Has anyone seen Die Another Day?

This is an absolutely dreadful movie, and probably the lowest point for Bond. It was Brosnan's final film and it ended as a total embarrassment and failure.
The scene where Bond tsunami surfs is so bad it's good.
Tsunami Surf
Is this the worst Bond film?

No. Nobody has seen a Bond movie that made over $430 million at the box office.
Also, the worst Bond movie is the 1967 Casino Royale. It's pretty much unwatchable.

even when i was a kid, i knew this movie was shite

Pierce brosnan was the worst. His only good bond film was Goldeneye and thats mostly because 006 had a major part.

It's not really a bond movie. Like 1982's Never Say Never Again is a Bond movie, but isn't considered a Bond movie.

I enjoyed it. Loved the opening setup with Bond imprisoned in N. Korea. The villain was interesting (shocked to learn he was Maggie Smith's son). It was cheesy in parts but more of a fun ride in the traditional Bond manner.

No, it's a real Bond movie. They had the rights to Casino Royale and made a terrible comedy instead of a straight Bond movie like Peter Sellers thought it would be when he signed on. Just b/c it sucks arse doesn't mean you can pretend it doesn't count.

The World is Not Enough is far worse. Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist and terrible acting all around.

It wasn't made by Broccoli and Saltzman (whose production house still peroduces the series), and it was written and made as a spy/action parody. It was released right before You Only Live Twice. It is totally unrelated to the series of films we refer to as Bond films, even though it was very loosely based on an Ian Fleming novel.
That said, yes, Casino Royale is unwatchable.
I have Die Another Day ranked as the worst proper Bond. I only saw it for the first time a couple years ago. I was hoping to find a surprising, misunderstood action film. I instead found something somehow worse than its garbage reputation.
I don't dislike Brosnan, but he's the only Bond with two films in my bottom 5 Bond films.

Timothy Dalton and License To Kill are underrated.

If you read the original Flemming books, Timothy Dalton plays the part very much like the book Bond. His two turns were good movies...top middle to middle (10-15) in my rankings.

It's up there but I wouldn't rank it the worst. I think A View to a Kill has it beat. Roger Moore was pushing 60 and looked every bit his age.

It just so happens that I'm going through the Bond Blu-ray box set, and I watched Die Another Day from start to finish for the first time just a few days ago.
I have no idea how the filmmakers allowed this movie to go off the rails like it did, and Brosnan didn't deserve this shite movie.
The tsunami surfing is a CGI abomination and an insult to Bond stunts, and I can't find the words to talk about the rest of the movie's issues.
It is the worst Bond film.
There's only about 20 minutes of enjoyment in the film; The opening scene, the fencing fight, and the car chase on ice are the only parts that approach something that resembles entertainment.

No. Worst Bond is quantum of solace. Thing is a pos
Once again (thanks to the modern casino royale reboot) Bond is not Bond in it, he is a British Jason Bourne.
Die Another day is indeed goofy. The surf scene, a British north Korean, the giant heat death Ray, yeah goofy. But it's still a Bond film. Bond is still suave/smooth, has gadgets, etc IE: Bond is still Bond. I will happily watch it over quantum of solace and yes, casino royale which I consider incredibly overrated.
People claim it's better cause of how "realistic" it is, after bond parcours through a city, leaps across craines and busts through a wall. Laughable imo
Add to this an incredibly weak villain, bonds failure to save the girl, and removal of pretty much all smootheness/cool bond should have and you have an absolute dog turd of a Bond movie.
Somehow Quantam manages to be worse though. It has an even worse villain, worse girl than one that back stabs bond, and even furthers James Bourne hybrid
Never have gotten the hate die another day got while casino royale is so revered. Die Another Day is at least entertaining and it has Brosnan going for it

Without a doubt the worst film of the series.

This was the first movie I can remember seeing in the theater where I walked out a little bothered. Typically seeing a bad movie in the theater makes up for sub par movies. But this one I walked out and was like, “was that.... bad!?!?”

The bond series has always been influenced by its era. Casino Royale was made in the era of the shaky can action film. These films were making money; Casino Royale made money. Not liking this Craig era is fine, but all Bond actors and all Bond eras have been very different.
Quantum of Solace is a mess though

DAD was a sad end to Brosnan's run (he's my No. 2 behind Connery), but it had some good aspects:
The intro with him in captivity
His interaction with the Chinese after he escapes
New Q (Cleese)
The fencing contest
Miranda Frost
As for the overall plot/threat, it was a twist on Diamonds Are Forever.
