They have Sesame Street and Cartoon Network on there lol.

I called this years ago. Fantastic Beasts being a dud only sped it all up.

and got downvoted for it

Way, way, way under 15. I’ll put it at 3 years. And here’s the thing: they’re not going to reboot it as a film franchise but as a television series. Amazon has Lord of the Rings, Netflix has Avatar, and Disney has Star Wars. HBO is going to have to combat that somehow and a Game of Thrones spinoff isn’t going to do it. So what are they going to do? Harry Potter for sure. They’ve got the rights to it already so we’re good there. Seven seasons makes sense. I would not be remotely shocked if they had the series cast by the end of 2021.

Though, HBO did do "His Dark Materials."

I think BBC did His Dark Materials and HBO handled international distro.

I'd take a Harry Potter reboot series. I never read the books, and actually never saw the movies until they were all out, but I enjoyed them.

You never know. I have it on good word that Rowling hates trannies.

What's wrong with me is I read things and know how premium channels operate.

See Showtime's pilot episode of Stargate SG-1 from 1997 for one reference:

quote:

In truth the only nudity in the show appears in the pilot episode, “Children of the Gods.” Premium cable home Showtime insisted upon the more mature content in 1997 (over producers’ objections). After the first week it was dropped entirely.

Putting nudity into a TV series based on an adult themed PG 13 movie (and giving up after a single episode) would be nothing like trying to put nudity in Harry Potter. That's the dumbest shite I've heard in a long time. Never mind that as has already been pointed out in this thread HBO now has Sesame Street and many other kids shows.

There’s nudity and then there’s like OC/Greek/Gossip Girl/etc level “adult content.” I don’t think there’s any chance they go full premium cable. But I also hope they target the generation that grew up with the books and is now age 21-40.

At the very least there could some realistic depictions of what a bunch 15-18 year olds living together in a castle with almost no adult supervision in their living quarters would get up to. Especially if it’s a Marauders Prequel and you don’t have to protect the sanctity of the OS characters.

Hey HBO just pick up the canceled MINDHUNTER from Netflix. Best series on Netflix and they go and cancel it. Also look at AWAY, the Genius at Netflix canceled the Hillary Swank drama after one season.

It wasn't cancelled. Fincher just didn't want to do a 3rd season.

Also it's obvious who should play Snape. Wouldn't be shocked if they already reached out to him on the part.

There will definitely be gay overtones surrounding Dumbledore that were never there in the books or original films.

Next time I see a commercial break with at least a total of >50% white people I will.

So... I guess, never.
