One of the GOATS. The elite of the elite in terms of film.

It's been a few years since it's been on a mainstream streaming service.

But it's back, baby.

Oh nice. I was thinking about this movie the other day after watching Gary Oldham in Immortal Beloved. Might have to watch it this weekend.

I own one of the original cuts on DVD (bought it from a Christian thrift store a few years ago) and a digital copy of the Director's cut (which is all that's available on new media in the US, IIRC).

I definitely watched this on a flight to NYC a couple years ago.

I rented it back two years ago in the worst days of the stroke recovery 'cause I just needed to actually watch something that was good after all that Netflix shite

It is great. Just a spectacle. Milos Foreman is seriously underrated.

I am a big fan of the movie myself.

When I drove from Dallas, to my parents, and back, there was a significantly large area thru East Texas where there was no sports talk radio. Nothing but country, pop and AM talk radio. The soundtrack from Amadeus was one of my favorite CDs to play while trekking across the hinterlands. I think it may have made me feel safe. I know it made me feel superior.

Movie is fantastic, but with almost all great movies, has a great story/script.

Somewhere, I caught an interview with Ian McKellen talking about his favorite roles.

Back in 1980, at the Broadway premiere, McKellen played Salieri...

Tim Curry was Mozart.

I have to watch that. Somewhere on Inter-webs that play with those two has to have been recorded.
