How many movies have you seen that have one setting? If you never move for 90 minutes, it's gonna get stale.

Are you serious, bro?

Rear Window instantly comes to mind. You know, that Hitchcock classic that most people will quote as his being one of his best films?

This thread is really weeding out the people who have no clue as to what the frick they are talking about.

It looks terrible. The trailer isn't even remotely interesting to me.

You can't be serious. If you are serious...you can't be fricking serious.

The so-called "top critics" are being very hyperbolic. 26 fresh reviews on RT among the cream of the crop, with an average rating of 9.3/10.

Wait but I thought awards and arbitrary critic ratings were the end all be all of film standard qualifications?

People bitch that some trailers show too much. This one shows you just enough to get what the movie is about and people still bitch. fricking amazing.

It's fricking ridiculous. This is about as blind as I've walked into a theater in quite some time. I know it's going to be excellent and have no clue how they're going to keep it going. Because of that, I am ecstatic about this film.

They are. I was being sarcastic.

If one critic were saying it I would call it hyperbole. When all of them are in agreement, there may be some merit there.

It's up to 119 reviews now. 117 fresh, a mere 2 rotten. And it is now the third highest ever rated film on Metacritic.

Right. And they show the crazy Michael Bay explosion scenes in the trailer to get the dumbass crowd in the seats. A trailer with Bullock just floating in space, thinking about her life isn't gonna get Joe Blow Moviegoer excited. But shite blowing up? frick yeah!

You act as if the only way to do explosions are the way Michael Bay does them.

I'm not acting like anything. I'm actually agreeing with your earlier post. I'm just pointing out that they put the crazy explosion scenes (even sneaking in explosion sound effects as to not confuse the run of the mill movie goer) in the trailer to attract the low info viewer.

Actual astronaughts who have seen it completely disagree. I'm just saying.

What do they know compared to some random person on the internet? Though he could be a rocket scientist for all I know, on the OT at least.

I pray that Sandra pulls a "Hillary Swank" and wins her second Oscar for LEAD actress in only her second nomination. The butthurt on this board may temporarily shut tiger droppings down.

No you weren't, two posts later:

This movie will more than likely be The Social Network of 2013. Gravity will get plenty of Oscar nominations but I still think 12 Years a Slave wins it all this year.

Have you seen either film?

You also have to understand many of the good reviews are simply because George Clooney is apart of it. For whatever reason the critics bow down and suck his balls no matter what he does.

Sorry, but this is bullshite. George Clooney tends to make good film choices, even if he was in Batman and Robin.
