I don't think you're thinking of the time travel correctly, especially if you consider the fact bran can transfer his consciousness. If you read the books, you know that the weirwood perception of time is way different than ours and isn't exactly linear. It's more in the static time theory realm. Just because there is a loop doesn't mean time can't also proceed forward. For example, there is an endless cycle of Bran making Hodor go retard so he could help Bran in the future who would then make Hodor retarded. Time can still proceed forward, but that loop is also always on repeat. Now take that, make it much larger in scale, and instead of a brief warg imagine a full transfer of consciousness

Everyone is also forgetting that the NK has a huge magical element to him.

He will be undone by magic. Not by some shite battle.

so in a world with dragons and undead armies the time travel is the jump the shark moment for you? I totally disagree, I think it's well established in the universe through the old gods magic and is an extremely interesting take on time travel. it reminded me of Dr. Manhattans POV and would establish a really cool ragnorak cycle.

Yes, time travel is a jump the shark moment for me.

Dragons and undead armies have been established in season 1. The only other instance of "time travel" was Bran's consciousness visiting past memories twice in season 6 and things went horribly wrong.

If they try to shoehorn Bran being the NK and the 3ER existing at the same time and fighting himself in 6 episodes it would be lazy.

We have different definitions of laziness then. I think it's an extremely clever plot, and btw all the foreshadowing I mentioned is in books 1 and 2 so it wouldn't just be George shoehorning it in last second. Nan looks Bran directly in the eyes and tells him that the Night King was a Stark. That and the winged wolf symbolism is pretty big in my eyes and indicative of a plan from the start. Reincarnation is a huge theme in the books and it would explain a lot of that too.

Also, i like how Sansa correctly pointed out that Jon lost the Battle of the Bastards

I did smile at that.

Now if someone woul dpoint all his other questionable tactical moves we could dispel the myth of John as a great military commander.

Ummmmm....after this season there will only be 6 episodes left.

So, how does this all end? With John defeating the NK in solo combat, causing all the raised dead to disintegrate? That is about all I can see happening at the moment.

And if Sansa hadn't have gone behind his back, they could have won the battle together with a ton more lives saved. So frick her.

Yeah that's all well and good but the TV show Night King isn't the Night King from the books.

Behold the Monty Python take on the scene following Little Finger's demise......

quote:

Sansa: I wish to complain about this Littlefinger, what was plotting against me not half an hour ago in this very castle.
Arya: Oh yes, the, uh, the Lord Baelish model... What's,uh... What's wrong with it?
S: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my girl. 'E's dead, that's what's wrong with it!
A: No, no, 'e's uh,...he's resting.
S: Look, missy, I know a dead Master of Coin when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.
A: No no he's not dead, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable schemer, the Littlefinger, idn'it, ay? Beautiful goatee!
S: The goatee don't enter into it. He's stone dead.
A: Nononono, no, no! 'E's resting!
S: All right then, if he's restin', I'll wake him up!
(shouting at Littlefinger)
'Ello, Mister Master of Coin! I've got a lovely fresh cuttle fish for you if you show...(Arya kicks the corpse)
A: There, he moved!
S: No, he didn't, that was you kicking the body!
A: I never!!
S: Yes, you did!
A: I never, never did anything...
S: (yelling and kicking the body repeatedly) 'ELLO LORD OF THE VALE!!!!!
Testing! Testing! Testing! Testing! This is your nine o'clock alarm call!
(Stands behind body, lifts it up by the arms and starts waving it's arms around. Throws him up in the air and watches him plummet to the floor.)
S: Now that's what I call a dead Littlefinger.
A: No, no.....No, 'e's stunned!
S: STUNNED?!?
A: Yeah! You stunned him, just as he was wakin' up! Lords of the Vale stun easily, m'lady.
S: Um...now look...now look, missy, I've definitely 'ad enough of this. That nobleman is definitely deceased, and when I purchased it not 'alf an hour ago, you assured me that its total lack of movement was due to it bein' tired and shagged out following a prolonged scheme.
A: Well, he's...he's, ah...probably pining for the moondoor.
S: PININ' for the Moondoor?!?!?!? What kind of talk is that?, look, why did he fall flat on his back the moment I got 'im home?
A: The Lord of the Vale prefers kippin' on it's back! Remarkable specimen, id'nit, squire? Lovely goatee!
S: Look, I took the liberty of examining that nobleman when I got him home, and I discovered the only reason that it had been standing upright in the first place was that you had shoved a broomstick up his bum.
(pause)
A: Well, o'course he was standing there! If I hadn't gotten him calmed down, it would have ridden down to King's Landing, grabbed Cercei by the scruff of her neck and BOOM, knocked her on her arse!"
S: "BOOM"?!? Mate, this man wouldn't "boom" if you shot him up with 100 grams of Fermented Crab! 'E's bleedin' demised!
A: No no! 'E's pining!
S: 'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This lordship is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker!
'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't shoved a broomstick up his arse 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!!
THIS IS AN EX-SCHEMER!!

1.)we already know he can warg into people in the past, just ask Hodor
2.)that time loop wouldn't have been shown without some larger purpose to the overrall story
3.)Also explains the resemblance to Bran and potentially the Night King's fascination with Jon.
4.)Lot of foreshadowing in the books about this, especially Old Nan's tales (Bran the builder, fact that she says Night King was a Stark, etc.)
5.)Old Nan mentioned that the Night King was killed by his brother, also a Stark, during the Long Night.

I agree with the first 2 points. I'm not sure I agree with number 3, and I'm not sure how much we can read into number 4. As far as number 5, I think you may have some details off. The Long Night was before the Night's King of Old Nan's tales.
