not going to happen. They spent 6 years telling us Drogon was the alpha of the litter. He's been considerably bigger than the other 2. He's the closest thing to Balerion we'll see.

How are they gonna bring the dragon down though? It doesn't seem like they have anything like a scorpion or ballista like Qyburn made. I guess a giant could probably take one down with a bow and arrow but if that was the case then I guess the one question I pose is, again, why the frick did Wun Wun not have some kinda weapon during the BotB?!?!

Good question.

That Maester conversation about summoning krakens has to foreshadow something right??

Can show Euron summon a kraken and use it to overtake more ships??

I'm still running with the theory that he's going to burn down the Citadel at some point.

I've seen somewhere on here that somebody thinks that maybe the NK is warging into all the wights.

meh...you're a simpleton. So that explanation works for you.

You don't know shite about me. "What's their motivation?" You sound like a ditzy actor who just got his first part, fresh out of actin' school.

But, my simpleness would certainly be better than your serial overthink masturbation. If the show never gives you an answer to your question, are you gonna be upset? Will I get to read your bitchy posts afterwards? This show will never satisfy a great number of you, so I can either be driven insane reading your endless complaining, or I can just laugh at you and attempt to make it as uncomfortable as possible for you.

How can they bring a Wight across the Wall if Benjen can't pass across? They did in Season 1. I think wights and Others are like vampires where they need to be invited in.

More fanfic pulled completely out of your arse.

Benjen and Others were created by the CoF. The magic keeps them out. Wights are just automatons created and controlled by the NK. They are not prevented from passing the wall by the majic.

They do need the Others around to control them though.

He's not. We see him doing stuff ominously like walking and looking around while the wights were trying to kill anyone alive at hardhome.

Been sick all day and did a re watch binge of this season. I know D&D get a lot of criticism (albeit deserved sometimes) but they have done a great job with the Jon and Dany relationship. Especially with the time constraints of the season.

Well, I was wondering about that. There has to be some magic keeping Benjen on the side of the living, right.

Maybe if he goes south of the wall he ceases being himself and becomes a true wight.

If not, though, I think it would be awesome to see ol Coldhands make an appearance next week to save the crew and then when he hears their story, offers himself up to talk to Cersei.

On another note, I'm thinking that if I were Dany, I'm not going for a truce. In her point of view, she has Cersei in terrible shape, and this just gives KL time to regroup. Saved by the bell, if you like.

And she just roasted the Tarly family. A day later, and we get the perfect opportunity to employ the Tarly's and win their trust...

I think he states he can't go South of the wall in the novels - and either explicitly or implicitly says it in the show.

I've always concluded that the same magic that keeps the army of the dead north of the wall bars his passage as well.

Did anybody else think the whole "smuggle" Tyrion into Kings Landing was mind numbingly stupid?

Davos just rowed a boat onto the beach of the capital, a capital on absolutely high alert from fear of Dragons and Dany attacking at any moment. No beach or Blackwater Bay defenses in place at all. That was just dumb. Davos should've never muttered the words "smuggle", that was simply rowing Tyrion onto the beaches of Kings Landing

No. It was accurate. I get that you're upset with the plot point and the explanation, but Davos is a smuggler. He knows of this small beach (completely unsuitable for an invasion force) that also has access to a gate beneath the Red Keep. It is guarded lightly and he figured he had a chance to bribe the guards if they were caught (especially without Tyrion around).

He was right about all that. Smuggling is accurate - it was done outside official channels and more or less clandestinely.

What am I missing?

Which is a nice sounding line but i dont buy it now and i didnt buy it then. Even ISIS has a motive. If the Night King is some untamable dog in heat ok, whatever, but thats far less ominous or interesting to me. Thats like basic kindergarten cartoon shite.

That's an opinion based on your taste and is an acceptable one to have. But it's hardly a universal one.

Let's say the NK didn't have a complex motivation. He and his army could be compared to a force of nature. (or in this case since super natural forces are involved maybe super-nature).

Man against Nature is one of the three basic accepted sources of conflict in narrative story telling, along with Man against Man and Man against Self. There have been plenty of the latter two conflicts in this story. I for one don't mind if the final conflict is Man against Nature.

Drogon won't go down. But one of the dragons will. I have little doubt. And somehow cersei will learn she is down a dragon and that will lead to her being even more of an evil b
