you're probably the worst poster on this board (at least tied with Lacour)
Lacour supposedly quit TD entirely. That leaves blueboy unopposed.

So that's why Lacour has been trolling up the rant.

Am I taking exception to it or expecting it? But just because I can accept dragons in a world of magic doesn't mean more mundane things don't or shouldn't exist, even if only mentioned in passing.
The people complaining about travel times and scouts ITT are the same people that call traveling on dunk highlights. They will never be satisfied.

Time for some over the top OML fan fiction centered around the Jon / Drogon scene next week.
There will be rape involved, somehow.

So when Cersei is talking to the banker, she says that she would like to have the golden company retrieve some things that belong to her. What do yall think she was referring to?
Good question. I'm wondering if she wants the GC to recapture the Rock. Not sure what is out there that belong to her unless she wants the GC to help her win Westeros.

What castle is that in the background? Is she back on Dragonstone, or is Jon on the mainland now?
What was Dany saying in that scene?
For all we know, Jon could have convinced her to fly them both back to Winterfell, and is trying to tell her to be more humble and magnanimous. The North isn't in open defiance against Dany, they are opposed to Cersei and preparing for the attack from the North.
Dany needs to lay the law down on the South, so she's going to come across with a join or die message... that isn't a tyrant move when you're addressing an army you just fought. That's pointing out the obvious- I just beat you, and could have roasted you. I won't hold back next time, but you can instead fight with me instead of against me. She's probably still fired up about the fight and the fact that Drogon got shot, too.
Jon could be calming her down, reminding her that she's not about to face another group of people loyal to the Lannisters, and she needs to change the approach.

The Seven Kingdoms is exactly what she meant.

Almost certain that's Dragonstone.

LOL that is 100% Dragonstone.
Some Hodor's have slipped into the MAESTER thread.
It's all good. Just a tad funny.

Based on what the show has shown us the Lanister army getting ambushed should be no surprise. Their arrogance is noted throughout the show once they think they have got the upper hand they become reckless. No different when Robb surprised Jamie. Where were his scouts then looking in the wrong place if I remember correctly following a part of the northern army away from the real intent.
Lets look at the events that took place leading up to the ambush. They let the unsullied basically have Castlery Rock and then destroyed their ships so they are now out of the picture and can go after High Garden. Euron had already destroyed Yara's Fleet. I believe Jaime and maybe someone else(Robert/Ned) had said in an earlier episode or season that the Dothraki had never fought against a real army and probably the assumption was made that with Yara's fleet burned and the ships the unsullied used as well they did not have enough left to get the horde where they needed.
Also I believe the majority of the army had already reached KL with the gold though I have some reservations while the leaders of the army was with the remaining group and the supply chain at this point. The horde moves fast and probably would surprise any scout before they could sound the alarm but even so please tell me what a scout would accomplish with the speed of the horde. Just about every supply wagon had no horses attached to it and the army was infantry so not like they could out run the horde. Even if warned they could have done really no more then what they did in the end.
Agree with all this.
I wonder if some of y'all complaining about the generalship know your history or have experience in a war. Soldiers and commanders get sloppy, particularly when they think they're relatively safe. It's happened countless times in the past and still happens. One of the inspirations for the Lannister army - the Roman army - was famously surprised quite a bit.
It figured that they didn't believe they were under any immediate threat on land given Euron's recent exploits and that they thought an attack by a dragon was possible, hence why they had the ballista. A Mongol-like army would have shred through scouts, anyway, and they could move up to 100 miles a day.

So I haven't read this whole thread, but have we established with certainty that it was Bronn who tackled Jaime from his horse?
My left field hunch is that it was actually Jorah, finally returning to his queen. He could have made the charge seeing his queen being attacked and not wanting to risk Drogan not noticing before Jaime gets to Danny with his lance. Or he could have realized it was Jaime charging and known that he was more valuable as a living prisoner than as another torched soldier, saving him to be a bargaining chip. It would be the second time he gifted a Lannister to his queen. And it could lead off next episode mimicking his pulling Tyrion from the waters in Valyria.
Now I assume that they'd want to highlite Jorah's return to Danny, so it seems odd to end the episode without knowing it was him to tackle Jaime. But otherwise it would be a strong return for Jorah after so much time away.
