not gonna lie, I was about to be so goddamned pissed if Jon was trampled to death. I was getting real nervous
Me too bc I kept thinking, he told Mel he didn't wanna come back. So I kinda felt like he really just wanted to let it all go and die for good. And LF would show up too late to save Jon but win the battle. Then I was like No! Get up dammit!

The battle scene was really well done. The after show D&D talked about how much research and thought they put in to it and it showed.
I don't remember if it was Dan Carlin, History of Rome, or another podcast but they discussed what happened when armies got surrounded like that in the ancient world.
Waiting to die, nowhere to go, bodies piled up as everyone is going insane, they nailed it

I know, I mean we saw the giant tear a man in half, yet he wasn't able to breach the line.
How scared to death would you be if you saw the guy next to you get picked up and torn in half by a giant?

Whose sigil was on the shield Jon used at the end?

Read about the Roman battle in England against Boudicca. More close to this battle. Couldn't penetrate Roman wall of shields and swords. Got bunched up and slaughtered

Yeah I never really figured out why wun wun didn't start throwing dead humans through the bolton barrier.

Yeah Mormont. You can see it in the scene with Lyanna Mormont as well.

LF ain't messing with Jon now, Jon knows he can't die and we just saw him go BEASTMODE
Seriously, and the end bit where he basically went Neo in the Matrix just walking into the arrow shots, I mean unless I'm 110% sure I can kill that guy I don't take my shot.

Between coming out of that pile and what Melissandre said about it not being her will that keeps him alive, I'm not sure he can die, at least not while the Night King lives.

The VEEP episode that followed was a GOAT level episode too.

Snows plot armor is too strong. So what exactly has Davos thought happened to Shireen? Did he think she died in battle?

Probably.
Time to read the Hodor thread and laugh at their reactions and theories

So it seems now the wildling numbers have decreased quite a bit. I know there are still women and children and older people, but I wonder if this will kind of mitigate the issue of having wildlings south of the wall, or if they will stay further north so the noble houses in the Seven kingdoms don't really give a shite.
They'll probably let them keep The Gift.

I wonder if Jon or Tormund will confront Sansa about not mentioning the letter. Could have saved a lot of lives.

I really, thought for second we might get GNC when Ramsey had his archers volley fire into his own men.

Good point
We have to assume LF responded positively to the letter but we don't know for sure
I don't think he just showed up in the nick of time but Sansa is going to catch some heat from Jon either way

What a dumb frick Lord Umber was. "I'm mad that the Night's Watch let in wildings so I'm going to turn over my true born liege lord over to a psychopath and trust this guy in battle." I hope Davos and Tormund settle Karhold and the Last Hearth.
