good
let's progress the story
I don't need scenes of Jamie and Bronn riding to KLs or Varys riding a ship back to Mereen, etc
those scenes do nothing

Last week I was at lunch with some coworkers discussing Battle of the Bastards. My boss told us his son watches GoT(son is 12, boss is a very strict dad). Me: "Really? You let your son watch that?" Boss: "yeah, why is it vulgar?" Me: "Extremely." Boss: (worried look on his face) "Oh um, he told us it was like the movie where they send the kids to fight." Me: "You mean the Hunger Games? Naw, not even close." Boss: "Is there lots of nudity?" Me: " Pretty much every 5 mins. Just about every actress on the show has shown her boobs. Main character is banging his sister, etc." Boss: " Oh damn. I've never seen it. I mean he goes back in his room and watches it on his iPad." Me: "I bet he does."
Way to go a-hole.

I talk about GoT with some of my former and current co-workers. They all know that I'm a GoT encyclopedia so our Monday morning discussions are always great.

When she said "They're already here". I squealed. Seriously squealed.
Me, too. My group....who has not read the books.....paused the TV and looked at me. "Whaaaat?"
I said, "Just waaaatch" while bouncing on the couch. Seriously a great moment.

So have we figured out Jon's name yet?
I don't think she said his name. I believe he's named after Jon Aryn, but who knows? I believe Ned actually named him.
But, she said, "Don't let Robert find out or he'll kill him. You know that." - or words largely to that effect as the barely intelligible speech.

Yeah, later I was talking to one of the guys and I blurted out "So I totally just cock blocked that kid, right?"
I did feel kinda bad about it.

I could be wrong but it looked like she told Ned his name was Azor Ahai.

I would say I enjoyed this episode more.
It had the first shocking death in a long time. That was fun.

I wasn't expecting everyone to die like that to be honest. I thought Marg was going to live for another season before last night.
I kind of loled when the HS was blown up and melted by the wildfire.

Excellent episode. So satisfying.
As far as suicides go Tommen's was on point. No hesitation just up and out.
What do you think motivated him the most to go out like that. Margery's death or the HS?
So much wtf in this episode it was hard to process it all last night.
Dead Freys - check
Kings Landing in chaos - check
New King in the North - check
ToJ reveal - check
Dany sets sail - check
Motherfricking winter is here !!!!!! - check.

I laughed that the High Sparrow had a dressy potato sack to wear for formal trials.

I kinda got tipped off when Walder said, "you're not one of mine" I was like wait, well that's odd. Then when she said they're already here I was like frick. YES MOTHER frickERRRRR

The show did a better job with time earlier in the series. Lately they just stop giving a frick about it and quit giving the illusion going great distances. It's just sloppy.
Wrong.
GRRM plainly SPELLS OUT in the beginning of both AFFC and ADWD that the events happening in those two books are concurrent and that timelines may be a little distorted to the reader.
Why is it so hard to conceive that the D&D are just expounding upon that?
