Can someone explain the Lannister honeypot theory?
I've read the books twice and I never saw any evidence that supports it.
Am I missing something?
It's a show-only theory; there's some evidence that Talisa is a plant. Makes some sense from a book perspective if you think of her character as replacing not just Jeyne from the book but also her mother.
Just google "Lannister honeypot" and watch the video.

There is a Tyrion chapter that definitely points to the Westerlings being involved in getting their daughter to marry Robb. The evidence is in the conversation between Tywin and Tyrion. When Tywin revelas to Tyrion that Robb/Jeyne Westerling are married, Tyrion is incredulous since the Westerlings are a liege family of House Lannister. Tywin responds that essentially they aren't the fools he thinks they are (while smiling, which Tyrion mentions is the first time he's seen his father smile).
Here was my post in the Crackpot thread:

In my re-read I came across a very interesting passage. When Tywin tells Tyrion that Robb has married Jeyne Westerling, and Tyrion is incredulous.
He makes a comment along the lines of: "Could the Westerlings and Spicers be such fools to believe the Wolf can defeat the Lion?"
To which Tywin responds (with a slight smile): "The greatest fools are offtimes more clever than the men who laugh at them".
Certainly seems to imply that (at least) Gawen Westerling was part of the plot.
To me, the importance of that whole thing is to show that you'd better have more than just an army to take down Tywin Lannister. He is a master of political maneuverings.

I always bring food for the get togethers at Finn's. I'm proud of my golden spoon victory two years ago.
T(they have a potluck for every Saints game, people who bring food get two free drinks, and they have a contest with prizes.

Finn's is a bar in NOLA?
Will they let me in even though I'm 20?

When do you turn 21? Just thought you were a bit older than that for a while.

Most Nola bars are flexible. I'm sure if you used your TD connections you could get in with no problems.

Maybe. I at least think Robb will make it to Casterly Rock to draw the Lannisters and Tyrells from Kings Landing. Then the city will be softened and not ready for a big attack, wherever it may come from.
gold like this has me reading the other threads.

Upon rewatching, I think this was definitely the worst episode of the show to date

Carson is young? That's surprising

I wonder if the writers now aware of this theory are exploiting the idea in order to keep the speculation alive and interest up?

You should not have a problem at Finn's, unless you look like you are twelve.
Act appropriately and nobody will care.

well, Talisa is not in the books and the Westerlings are not in the show so it is purely a TV Show concept at this point.
There is defeinitely direct evidence that Tywin bribed Jayne's mother into giving her moon tea to prevent pregnancy.
So we know Tywin and Grandmaw Westerling were in contact. We also know the Westerlings were bannermen of the Lannisters. We also know Great Grandmaw Westerling was an OLD CRONE (the one that gave Cersei her Valonquar prophesy?). We also know that people in the Lannisters region used to go to the old crone for love potions and such.
That's a bout a strong of evidence as Martin gives in these books that Tywin was behind the marriage of Robb (through mother and love potions) which would ultimately undermind his alliances with the Boltons and Freys and allowed Tywin to have Robb and his host ambushed at the red weddind.
Tywin Lannister was the Master of the Game of Thrones. I'll bet if they checked very carefully, they would find at least a small amount of gold in the privy.
So no, it is not just a show concept, it is a direct adaptation of the book with different names.
