Remember Ned made a note of Ser Hugh's armor being exceptional for a newly made knight.
eta: i realize Ser Kevan wasn't a hand but you get my point.

I don't know. Seems like a hell of a risk to try to bribe his own squire, when Lysa could manage to poison him just as easily. The others mentioned had clear motive for wanting to kill the Hand, but not really Hugh.

He was working for somebody and knew something. He was essentially murdered by the Mountain at the Hand's tourney. If LF murdered had Arryn murdered why would Cersei need to have Ser Hugh killed?

Cersei was completely ignorant to Littlefinger's plot though.

Not that I don't love all the intrigue and plots and double crossings. But I sure am looking forward to a little action from The Others. And maybe a small battle here or there. (I know CGI and battle scenes are both expensive so I can understand that but dang, I'm looking forward to things moving along a bit).
I enjoyed seeing the difference between Thoros and Melissandre. Thoros is all like "I can't do anything, I'm just a vessel for the Red God". While Melissandre always goes all prima donna with her "powers" And Thoros blows her away as far as the "miracles" they have each exhibited.
I know Melissandre almost definitely wants Gendry to burn (ie like she was going to use Edric). But I almost half wish she brought him back and told Stannis she needed to use him like she used Stannis for Shadow babies. Wonder how that would go over?

The Others... Can't help but feel that they serve someone as well.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if she wants both before it's all said and done.
I still contend characters like Melisandre are more dangerous to the realm then maybe even The Others at this point.

How dangerous would you consider Dark Flame then? After all he's headed straight for Dany?

It's hard to say at this point whose the most dangerous. But at least Stannis and Melissandre went up to the wall where the main threat from the Others is coming from. More than we can say for most of the remaining power players in the books/show. Of course, once Stannis has gone off to fight Ramsey instead of preparing to defend Westeros from the Others. (Albeit in the long run that will probably be one more move to get the pieces in play to fight the Others somehow).

Tangent: I feel it could be argued that had Robb lived through the Red Wedding, he would have gone up to the wall to help his bastard brother.

Yeah that was a screw up

I think he meant that if Robb lived through the RW that he would've gone to help Jon. I agree that would've happened eventually.
I give Stannis props for going up there while everyone else is hanging out in King's Landing and the warmer regions, still acting like The Others are nothing but mythical Bogeymen. They're the real threat to Westeros and if they aren't defeated, everyone will die.

And that's when Dany will swoop in with her dragons and take care of business. We know what dragonglass does to the Others. I would expect Dragonfire to do worse.

Ser Kevan - Himself
I find myself getting more and more pissed off that they haven't really introduced Ser Kevan yet. I know they showed him once or twice in the opening season, but he was basically at Tywin's side all the time in the books. I would like to have seen him by now so we could know that there was another level-headed Lannister.

Well, the Lord of Light followers have made numerous mentions of the Great Other.

Jon should have killed Orell once he got to the top of the wall.

And remember, Stannis and his army are basically trapped under 5 feet of snow. He may not have any soldiers left by the time he tries to move. His power (politically and physically) has been waning. I won't be surprised if he is a broken man before he ever moves towards Ramsay.
