In their defense, we get bombarded with sigils in the book and we learn to look for it. The dialogue can be so deep that a non reader can easily lose focus of the details around them.

I thought it was a setup episode. But not without it's moments. Theon's torture was appropriately uncomfortable to watch. I'm able to overlook him not knowing where he is or who captured him.

I will say that actually seeing him torture Theon just because he's whacked in the head is kind of boring. In the book at least he had the motivation of replacing the original Reek whose was killed after Ramsey swapped places with him to avoid death. For the life of me I cant remember if they established that in the show, did away with it or maybe will do it later via flashback.

I don't mind them combining Gendry with Edric. Because frankly in the book Gendry wasn't given a heck of a lot to do and kind of disappeared after awhile. At least this will keep him busy for a bit.

I understand that the Boltons have just come into prominence this season...but the Lannisters....that is just unacceptable. We have known that Lannister=Lion since very early in Season 1 and they always talk about being prideful/lions, etc.

I don't remember them establishing that either. They will have to fill it in. I'm glad to see they are filling in Sam The Slayer.

Yeah. I was glad to see Sam the Slayer seems to be on the way. But it seems like they should have a few more people other than Gilley around when he does it if the name is gonna stick - one or two Nights Watch men at least.

Good to see the old Roose making sure Tywin knows it wasn't him that took Jamie's hand. Practical as always. His statement to Briene that she was under his protection sure didn't last long though. and good to see Jamie tried to get her freed too but didn't push it too hard ... Though we know it's setting up next week.

From page 13 of the other thread: I hate the book readers. They think they are so much smarter than us. Probably in their "literate" thread calling us hodors.

well, they are a bunch of Hodors

ETA: So glad Hodor had a line in this episode. I was afraid the non-readers wouldn't even remember why we call them Hodors.

I'm convinced whoever plays Hodor has the best acting gig in the world.

The Bastard is money. I cringed at the whole Sansa/Loras scene though. He ain't just gay; he is supergay and everyone knows it but Sansa.

I loled at Hodor's line because he said "Hodor!" while Osha and Meera were arguing. Rickon had dialogue too!!

I love how obvious it is that the show writers know what the readers bitch about

Readers :"Loras is in the kingsguard!"
Writers: Nope frick you we will use this as leverage for Tywin

Readers: We hate Ros
Writers: Dont worry we will give her a cool role working with Varys that gives her purpose. LOL JJ We will have Joffrey use her for target practice with his crossbow
