YouTube. That dream sequence, which was left out of season 1 of the show, is where a lot of the speculation comes from. still cant believe they left that out of the show... its kinda a big deal

They also cut out Eric Dayne telling Arya he knew Jon Snow's mother, and that they were milk brothers.

Yep!

I'm thinking they did that because it would be too obvious/not as big of a surprise reveal whenever we find out what is Jon's DNA.

Jon is Ned's nephew and not his son, couldn't that have potentially put him in line for House Stark before Robb?

No the 2nd son follows the first, daughters are last & Ned did what was required before he went to war.

I think he's not Ned's but is Robert Baratheon's mainly because banging hos doesn't seem like Ned's style. Ace thinks he is Rhaegar's and Ned's sisters.

I thought for a while that he was Cersei and Robert's lost child, but why would they do that?

Cersei and Robert didn't bang until after the war, Jon was born sometime during it.

Cersei and Robert had no children.

Lyanna and Rhaegar however, apparently had one child.

Well, like I said, it's not 100% confirmed that Jon is Rhaegar and Lyanna's child.

But...the links I posted make it a fairly plausible theory I would say.

That's why I discount that Ashara Dayne was his mother. The timeline doesn't fit.

Robb-15 born in Riverrun
Jon-14 born in Dorne
Sansa-12 born in Winterfell

Aegon the Conquerer

The main thing working against Snow being either Aegon or the product of a Rhaegar and Lyanna relationship is that he doesn't look Targaryen.

That's the main reason I said he was Robert's bastard because he has black curly hair also.

He kind of looks like Robb. I mean it is actors so they aren't going to look totally related. Where is all the curly hair coming from? Ned had straight hair.

It was said in either season 1 &/or book 1, Catelyn was pissed because Jon had more Stark features than any of her children.

Elia and Rhaegar's kids did not have the silver hair, violet eyed Targaryen look. Rhaenys and Aegon both had black hair.

And Robert/Stannis/Renly's grandmother was a Targaryen. None of them have the Targaryen look either.

The Targaryen look is a recessive trait and shows up a lot because they were incestuous. The Targaryens who married non-Targaryens generally had kids whose features matched their spouses' families.
