nobody knows...anyone who says otherwise is just giving their opinion...wouldn't surprise me at all if Martin starts book 6 with Snow's funeral.

BS if so. I didn't commit hours of reading for my favorite character to be slain. Wow.

That is very possible but that doesn't mean Jon is dead. You've got to remember that he is A) a Warg and ghost is still alive and B) is around the most powerful red priest we've ran across yet.

He ain't dead.

Just remember that his death satisfies his oath to the wall and once reserected he will be able to hold titles, get married etc.

This is the most important part to remember. If he is resurrected, which I fully expect to happen, he will be free to travel South and wreck shop on everybody between him and the Iron Throne.

This is what everyone wants to see, hence............it will never happen.

He'll stay at the wall and deal with the impending ish about to go down.

Remains to be seen but if I had to bet I think the odds are pretty heavy that he will live - for now anywhere.

as a technical point maybe but if resurrected back into his physical body I'm quite sure the nights watch will hold him to his vows for his actual death could be questioned...

I am curious how this plays out if and how Jon Snow keeps his identity as Jon Snow(Stark)...

His story build up did get quite tedious in book 5 with the wildlings argument with the rest of the Nightwatch leadership to the subsequent apparent assassination...

Also tedious was Dany's Maureen politics including the Daario/ Maureen marriage conflict... hopefully the story moves now.

Seems most disagree but I enjoyed affc a bit more... Cersei's conniving and self-destruction was more interesting and weirdly Sansa's story was interesting also which I think is the 2nd most mysterious after Snow how this story with LF plays out.

I guess we'll find out if the Martell/ Dany storyline had any real point beyond him not having dragon blood in the subsequent books.

Tyrion's story was the saving grace for me in DwD for me. And somewhat Arya's story although very intriguing lacks any "wow" moments and also moves a bit slow...

I must say the whole "Stark" children formation and transformation is very intriguing and where it all goes...

I've got this feeling that he is the one to deal with Stannis. He is a bit tired of his shite.

This would be a good thing. He is stuck on the wall and must be relieved of that duty. I don't understand the failure of his gathering ships then losing half of them. I hoping that Martin is ready to start clearing this up. He has turned Dany into a whore. I'm thinking her sale sword/lover will be the second betrayal not Mormount. Arya's story has dragged. Jon Snow's death had better lead to his ressurection as a more powerful lord. If he is truly gone, all we have left is Tyrion.

He'll probably warg into Ghost for a while (hence his last words as he goes down and things go black were Ghost....) and then gets raised up by Mel. That would give plenty of time for him to be legally dead.

One other thing to keep in mind is Martin has never killed any major characters off screen like he did with Jon here. It always winds up being a fake out, be it Davos, Arya, Sandor, Bran and Rickon, or Brienne.

I'd actually agree with you on AFFC, I consider it pretty much even with ADWD. ADWD is has some decent parts but it's pretty average taken as an individual book, it's all build up and zero resolution. And the Dany plotline is flat out horrible. If you take out her sections and the Mereen sections in general it's actually a solid read, but that's like 1/3 of the book at least.

Any chance George RR Martin is reading what everyone thinks and then choosing what he is going to do with John?
