So did I, but that doesn’t mean this movie will be as good as those were. Ha.
Being against G vs. X monster movies would exclude all but like 4 of them.

Again, after the success and reception of Godzilla minus 1 for this studio to put out this garbage shows how inept they are. The blueprint couldn’t be more obvious yet you continue to do the opposite of what’s successful.

If you could travel back in time and tell someone leaving Godzilla 2014 or Godzilla KOTM that in 2024, the monster verse would turn into this BS they would call you crazy.

The only one I thought was unenjoyable was King of the Monsters. I’m not a harsh critic of movies like this but that one was almost a walk out.

I saw this last night. My wife just really needed to go to the movies. Jesus frick, this movie was retarded.
It has zero suspense. It feels there are no stakes. The CGI is often cartoonish—the kaijus have no weight to them. The story regarding the monsters is dumb and the story regarding the humans is a drag. The “bad guy” is underwhelming esp compared to the big hydra guy and mecha Godzilla from the prior movies. The geography and whole concept of inner earth makes no sense.
There was no sense of horror, no sense of impending doom. About halfway in, the movie turned into camp.

I’ve seen both, and Godzilla Minus One was awesome. It felt like a real movie. With real people who inhabit a lived-in world.

Just got out, it was alright just a dumb but fun movie. It’s much more of a Kong movie than a Godzilla movie. In fact Godzilla felt almost not needed aside from one reason which also felt not needed. Don’t expect Minus One or even 2014 Godzilla expect far more campy Godzilla vs Gigan vibes and you’ll be good.
Best part was the final battle especially the final death
Worst part was the build up for Godzilla and then it kind of doesn’t happen if you’ve seen the movie you’ll know what I’m talking about
Also another thing pops up randomly although I kind of called it at the start but even that felt kind of pointless

My hope is for the monsterverse to go back to its more serious roots like with 2014 Godzilla or Skull Island. We got the oxygen destroyer it’s time to start building up to Destroyah.
Also would like to see Gigan, maybe Battra, Hedora, or Biolante feel like any of these could work well in a more serious monsterverse

It won’t even make back what the movie cost much less cover the advertising or turn a profit.
