Give us the variant Top Gun 2 plot if Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy had made it

No chance danger zone plays. The only white pilot would have been bob, and a scene of him making out with his non-binary born male partner would have been his only ticket to staying in the script.
The upper military bosses would be minority female.
Phoenix would be the team leader and have Flawless Mary Sue capabilities easily defeating Maverick the first time they did the training dog fights.
We would have been beaten over the head with how bad America is and the mission would have been to take out a Russian oil pipeline that’s polluting the atmosphere.
Maverick would have disappeared away after it is realized that he was force projecting himself from a white guilt focus group in Oregon and wasn’t actually even in the movie.

Why are you making up things to be upset about? From your perspective I am sure there plenty of actual things you could find to be pissed off about.

I’m not upset. I loved the movie. Hated episode 8.

Maverick doesn’t want Rooster to become a pilot so he attempts to murder Rooster in his sleep.
Maverick eventually gets back to Top Gun and he refuses to fly his F-18.
At the climax of the movie, Maverick remotely pilots a drone to the target and saves the day. Moments later he dies of a soy overdose.

After the events of Top Gun, Maverick runs out on McGillis - who turns lesbo shortly after - and dies in a motorcycle accident. He leaves behind a daughter who grows up to be tops in her class at the Air Force Academy, but because she's female, she's oppressed from the top jobs. She fakes a transition to a male and gets accepted to Top Gun where she dominates all the flexing males, kicks their arse in football (with shirts, of course) and then saves the world from the Russians, bombing Vladimir Putin in his hideout as a bonus. She reveals herself to be a woman, is named admiral, hooks up with a gay trans pastry chef "woman" and rides her Tesla off into the sunset.

Throughout the film a US aircraft carrier is chased by the enemy navy. The aircraft carrier goes just fast enough to stay out of range of the enemy, but they are unable to go fast enough to escape.
Admiral Iceman dies. The film does not show any character react to his death, the story immediately moves on to the new admiral in a purple dress that keeps Maverick out of mission briefings, and she endlessly berates him when he tries to do his job.
30 minute B plot where a female mechanic and a male janitor leave the base for Vegas where they bemoan the evils of capitalism.

You have to laugh at all the progs downvoting you. They can't handle any criticism of their woke worldview.
I saw the film this past weekend and was amazed the film makers didn't try to add "queerness" to the movie (Disney execs term not mine).
There was also no man hate, white hate, America hate, capitalism hate, or any of the usual woke nonsense that permeates 99% of films these days.

It definitely was a breath of fresh air. Hopefully some other studios take note of this and realize people don’t want political BS shoved down their throats in entertainment

I think you’re missing the point of this post which is how refreshing it is to be able to watch a very well made movie with great character development. We didn’t have to endure a whole bunch of virtue signaling being shoved down our throats to remind us of things most of us don’t give a shite about. Very refreshing movie and hopefully others will start to follow suit with the same formula.

the saddest thing is, you are right about most of that and Kathleen Kennedy herself would agree thats a great story to do it that way and wouldnt change a thing from what you said
