The show is to blame for many people believing this. Dany's funeral pyre excursion was a one-time thing, fueled by blood magic and who knows what else, not because she herself was ever really immune to fire as a constant thing.

Several Targaryens have come up against fire or extreme heat and lost. Most recently, Viserys took a pot of molten gold to the head and died

Aegon V died in a fire at Summerhall, along with his oldest son, Duncan the Small. Aegon V's own brother, Aerion Brightflame, thought it'd be a good idea to drink wildfire. It killed him.

Those weren't abandoned ships. Those were the ships Jon borrowed from Stannis to sail to Hardhome. They are just to big to sail right up to the shore.

:HODOR:

You think Jon and company row-boated to Hardhome?
And brought enough rowboats to bring back 5,000 wildlings?

Maybe I was seeing what I wanted to see, but I swear when the Thenn guy was looking through the hole in the wall a huge spider walked by mostly obscured by the blizzard.

I gotta do a rewatch tonight.

Dany is burnt by Drogons hot breath. It singes her hair away and blisters her skin. Just his breath. She ran underneath his flames

Jon cannot die by fire, he's blood of the dragon.

Of course they didn't row boat to Hardhome. But there were abandoned ships out there amongst the ships the NW got there on

I've been a documented show hater this season. Have thought the changes have largely diminished the series and have had little justification. I still feel that way about them, but this episode was the bees fricking knees. I thought showing Hardhome with Jon there had the potential to be awesome and then it blew my mind past any recognition. I started to get upset about the wights going all World War Z, but then I realized how much I was enjoying it. I kept waiting for Benjen to walk out as the Night King would give an order, but not a big deal at all. Absolutely loved the confirmation of Valyrian Steel. Yes it was a given, but it's still good to have the confirmation so it's not a lingering doubt. I was waiting for the NK to do some kind of Mortal Kombat/Sub Zero Ice Ball type thing but the silent raising of the dead was terrifyingly perfect.

I'm not sure I have ever been as drawn in to an episode of a TV show as I was last night. I still hold them accountable for the shitty decisions they have made this season, but D&D just put out a freaking masterpiece.

Not reading this whole thread to see if it's been pointed out, but I loved the wildling woman's "I fricking hate Thenns" line. A callback to Tormund from last season

Not only that but at one point before Drogo dies she puts one of the eggs in a fire then gets it out. Her handmaiden was astonished to find that Dany's hand wasn't even red even though the egg was hot.
Yep, as well as her preference for super-hot bath water, which shocks Illyrio's servants but doesn't even phase Dany.

I don't remember her skin being blistered, and I do remember the previous instances already mentioned.

thought the death of Valyrian steel manufacturing had more to do with the disappearance of magic.

I've seen some speculation that suggests newly created Valyrian steel may need to be forged with dragonfire. That would be a nice touch on the relationship between dragons and magic.

You called me a hodor because I said the ships in last night's episodes weren't abandoned. I don't think it that's hard to follow.

He burned his hand in S1 so I don't see how that's possible without the help of magic.

It still bothers me greatly that Jon completely blanked that fire kills the wights, even if it doesn't touch the White Walkers. Dude.

The fire disappeared as soon as the WWs showed up.

Except for that giant-assed pole Wunn Wunn was cleaning house with. One end of it was on fire.

perhaps you should go reread aDwD?

"Drogon roared full in her face, his breath hot enough to blister skin."

Then later she runs under Drogon's flame. She never comes in contact with actual fire.

She gets all fricked up and can barely climb off of him later and her skin is described as pink and blistered
