He wasn't, but I don't see them abandoning the character completely for the next two years. I'm sure they'll show his transformation into Reek.

Plus I'm pretty sure he was in there for a second in some of the previews for the season.

I want to warn all the book readers:

I read the analysis of tonight's episode from reviewers that have seen it and apparently Catelyn has a monologue about Jon Snow that deviates dramatically from the book. One reviewer called it outright character assassination .

I have no problem with deviations from the book. Season 2's made watching it even better. It is entertainment. Just let it go. Arya and Tywin's interactions were better than Arya and Roose's could ever have been on screen.

Describing her monologue as a "character assassination" would seem to imply her speech is critical of Jon, which would be consistent with her dislike of him.
