They set up up how many seasons ago?

People have been pointing it out for a while.

Literally they HAD to do something to even the playing field.

It would be more unrealistic for Cersei to have just sat on her arse and not tried to figure out someway to kill dragons/ and use the Iron fleet.

One of her 2 assets.

Or ambushed them at Dragonstone. Had a team set up at the castle to shoot the Dragon.

How fast can they load those bolts vs how fast can that dragon get to her?

They literally spent 30+ mins showing everyone drinking and fricking.

And that was the good part. The show is so well cast with lovable characters, making 30 minutes of dialogue fun. Dany's scenes during the victory feast building her 'mad queen' arc were the best scenes of the season. It's when the action happens that it's clear D&D rushed the story and have no idea how to land their characters.

Never said anything of the sort. I’ve seen “maesters” complaining that the writing after the books is too predictable and I’ve seen people argue that it’s too misleading. It’s odd to me that there isn’t a consensus on why the show sucks on your side

Do you really think that the writing is close to as good as it was in the earlier seasons?

I agree. Pacing has been a major issue the last 2 seasons. Its what made GOT great in the beginning. It had long interactions that would build toward something. Now shite is all over the place.

Or there at their little moot at the gate. Everything plays out as it did except that Euron's people kidnapped Missande instead of having the quick maritime battle. At KL the scorpions are under large covers. When Missande dies Dany she sends Rhaegal at the gate while she heads to Drogon. The moment Rhaegal gets in range they pull the cover off the scorpions and he takes a few before he can make it to the walls.

He dies there almost at Cersei's feet making a powerful visual statement. It also can be played that Cersei had Missande kidnapped just to lure Dany close enough so she could kill one of her dragons.

Dany is enraged but impotent because all those scorpions are now aimed at her only surviving dragon, just waiting for it to come within range.

So I've read now a few opinions that the starbucks cup was intentional and they've done this in other episodes?

Like an easter egg hunt thing...

Idk.

Again I’m fine with the action

Kill a dragon
Pit dany on the ropes.

Show us Cersei has a chance.

Kill one of her 2 best friends.

Yeah, ole Dragon Lady had a tough episode. Lost her dragon son and her best friend.

And realized people would rather support her lover as ruler of the 7 kingdoms, who happens to be her nephew and the rightful heir.

She's definitely about to go all Mad Queen on some poor folk in the Red Keep.

The way they set the scene was not plausible.

How about a trap?

Anchor a few ships next to shore flying the banners, have the dragons swoop in for the "drakaris" and the targeted volleys of bolts at a predestined target area (assuming where dragons will be) makes likelihood of hitting target plausible.

Trap easy, you know where they are headed and where they are coming from. Trap was plan A at killing dragons, plan B is KL's turrets.

They take out 1, possibly injure other who runs, and fleet comes in to take out other ships.

And frick all that 10 bolts barely missing the imp like some cheesey 90s action flick.

Just make it logical, I can only suspend beliefs a certain amount.

What’s interesting is that people say “this is out of character for her”

But Iidont

So far every time she’s faced an obstacle she’s killed that obstacle.

The master, the Dothraki Khalid, that’s one peasant she had beheaded. Sam’s whole family.

Just until now we’ve sorta justified it as “those are bad guys”

Now good guys may be obstacles too,

This is pushing her character in a new way and she’ll either grow or break.

Well, also, her entire existence and purpose for living was that she was the rightful heir to the iron throne.

So she had her entire purpose for everything complete shattered and she's losing her mind.

She's also clearly very insecure.

It's another frick up.

They wouldn't leave coffee cups in the scenes.

They messed up few times and this is their way to justify it.

Easter egg hunt my arse
