The first 20 minutes felt like the end of a John Hughes 80's flick. So much cringe and a terrible tone setter. Everything seemed so incoherent and pieced together in the most anticlimactic way possible. WTF was the ending with Cersei having the high ground and numbers with all her enemies beneath her and not capitalizing on it? She sent a damn assassin to kill her brother(s), but now she has some fleeting moment of honor and decorum? That was absolute dogshit.

Everything they are writing now is for dramatic effect and spectacle and it absolutely sucks a cock

But his motivation to leave certainly was not to kill her.

You’re correct that that had been building up since S2/S3. IMO there were other things that occurred this episode that are worth bitching about way more than those two finally banging.
