yeah last night made season 7 look infinitely worse

She later says "the most heroic thing any of us here can do is face the truth". That's going to mean something major about her relationship towards Dany, and her views of the North staying separate, I think.
I think her bringing the armies north to fight off the NK and his decomposing horde won her some points with the houses of the North (the ones that remain).

I think Jon was preparing for the eventuality that they would find a way to get south of the wall, and accidentally helped them do it

was she carrying a walkie talkie?
Did you miss her entire conversation with Melisandre?
She emphasizes "blue eyes", asks her what we say to the god of death, and Arya knew exactly where Bran was and that the Night King would go for him.
This really isn't that difficult to understand.

The link to it is somewhere a couple pages back pretty sure.

You never let an enemy approach your last line of defense before engaging them
you make their "infantry" maneuver around your artillery to get close. then you send your infantry then Calvary. Kingdom of Heaven shows this done very well and how a far superior force overtakes the castle. shite now i want to watch kingdom of heaven again.
and before the dorks calling other people dorks, no im not some genius tactician, but there are basic intuitive things you can see what will work. Im not a appliance repairman but i can take something apart and figure out how to fix it to a degree.

was she carrying a walkie talkie?
I don't think he was helping her, but definitely watching her and waiting until she was in position. I think Bran sacrificed Theon to get the NK under the branch Arya was perched on so she could pounce.

do you really need me to answer this for you? if you want something do you just leave where it is and hope is finds its way to you?
So if it’s in there, a place I can never go, instead of doing other things to help me achieve my mission, I should just sit there?
Also, Purpose of charging your Dothraki, just for you, Custer
Sending your Dothraki would “thin the herd” heading to your defenses, and slow their attack

Yeah but you don't send in your first line while you can still use ranged weaponry. They should have tossed a few more rounds of flaming pitch before unleashing the Dothraki. Watching it from Jon & Dany's vantage, there was plenty of time for at least another round of catapults. With the way the dead were clumped together, every extra kill was crucial.
I also thought they should have had oil and/or pitch ready in case the dead made it to the walls. Pour it over and light them up.

That's not a melt. It's just the reality of the show. That's all they ever needed. One guy and a bow and arrow.

Can someone explain to me why the Night King always spares Jon Snow?
He didnt challenge him at Hardhome and last night he didnt either. Also, why didnt the wights attack Jon? Seems like he had plenty of chances to kill him but didnt.

they also had air superiority that they kept on the sidelines until their cavalry was completely wiped out and their infantry was getting overrun

I think regardless of how amazing a Dothraki horde is in an open field, it was bad tactic. If that was Jon’s idea that was his 2nd big battle fail.
They should’ve had the dead charge first then sweep in on both sides with the Dothraki just like my boy Theoden did at Minas Tirith.
A head on charge into the pitch black was stupid.
Definitely some shitty strategy/writing on that front.

Also, why did the catapaults stop after one round? Should’ve been nonstop all night until they were overran.
That was on my mind as well. Especially after they get the range from where the flaming-swords stop and have been extinguished.
