Bran cleared the way for ARYA by warging into the dead to let her through.

She was the only choice.
Trained assassin and identity politics.
I thought it was a great episode!

Duke duck and run. You can’t make those statements here.

No literally the only difference would be Arya getting caught like it happened and he snapping her neck.
She came from behind him though. If she drops the dagger, it falls too far away from Bran (who is confined to the wheelchair) to grab it.

Also add when she sneaked up on Jon in the godswood and he specifically said it in the first episode this season
Oh yeah I forgot about that
Was he surrounded by a thousand undead, white walkers, and the NK?

So didn’t Arya not give Sansa the V Steel dagger at the beginning of the episode? Or did she go get it back from her somehow in between?

I really enjoyed this episode, but I’m trying to figure out what purpose Bran serves from here on out.
I’m guessing he’s part of the plot device of confirming Jon’s parentage if we never see Howland Reed.

I'm in a weird place with the episode myself.
Awesome TV. Arya killing the NK is fine and makes sense. But it feels so empty with all the theory making that people have been doing for years. I really need the fat one to finish writing.

Her jumping out of the tree above Bran would’ve made more sense.

I see genius writing. Everyone thinks the NK is dead and now it’s Cersi time.

In the thread:
People complaining a series built on overturning fantasy tropes has a human rather than supernatural final antagonist.

It's called Game of Thrones. It's mainly a political drama revolving around human drama.
The White Walkers, prior to this season, appeared in 12 episodes. So no, they weren't the end game of GOT.

*devils advocate post*
Bran is still the night king right? The one warg body he was using is now dead, and his army is gone. But now he's got the element of surprise.
The night king didn't come into the battle til Bran warged away. This theory ain't gonna die!

Well, other than hiding in the crypts to avoid the guy who can raise the dead from the crypts but everyone has already pissed all over that stupid plot mistake.
I definitely agree, but where else would they have been safe?

All of Craster's babies were made completely useless as well and just wandered the battleield. So much potential cool deaths and fighting, wasted on Arya jumping from the bushes.
It appeared there was pretty much no army left besides the main characters as well. Be interesting to find out how much of the army is left.

Actually you have a point there. He would have to turn her to have her dagger hand drop into his lap or some sort.
Idk.
My hopes were that some epic throne room battle would happen at KL between NK and others. Felt like that would have been more rewarding.

Never been shown to be able to do that. Wouldn't it of made sense to warg into Vis and buck off the Night King earlier? Get that whole ice dragon off the field of play.
Only Valaryan Steel can kill the Night King so that wouldn’t have worked.
3 blades in play: that’s why they kept going back to Jorah and Jon. 2 blades...but where is the third?
The NK knew at the last second Bran was setting him up. That’s why he looked off to the side and backed up slightly. Bran knew all along Arya was there and helped her get in position via worging. Presumably Theon also did so unknowingly (perhaps even knowingly).

Arya gave Sansa a dragon glass knive/dagger. It was obvious since we see it clearly when Sansa and Tyrion are hiding behind that casket.

Episode was fantastic, anyone complaining is a nerd who forgot this show is entertainment and not a religion.
Even my wife, who loves Arya and defends the show constantly, was like “Wow, that was bad. It’s over just like that? That kind of sucks.”
But yeah, let’s keep pretending because Arya is an assassin. It was poorly written, written for shock value to appease brain dead fans cuz Arya bitch
