Were yall expecting Jon to just best this supernatural being in a sword fight? They made it obvious in the last episode that the plan was to more or less assassinate him. That’s why Bran was in the godswood. That was the entire point.

Never got the sense it was going to be an Assassination attempt. Think you’re reading into that/trying to justify it. It was terrible. The rest of the episode was fantastic but to throw away the NK like that was an awful decision. What the hell was Bran doing the whole time? He literally served no purpose but to just sit there?

I would’ve been fine with Arya killing the NK if it had been well written and had been earned. It wasn’t. Jon didn’t have to be the one, that’s not what people hated about it

The three eyed crow is pretty useless. Where did he have to go during that battle?

His hair moved as she went past him she wasn’t wearing his face since we would have seen a division of wights turn to ice if she would have killed one to get his face

If the trap was the only way to kill the NK why waste so many of their army?

Still confused about the Dothraki version of Pickett's charge which just seemed so foolish with so many seasoned warriors there.

I also would have been alright killing off a few more.

And if Ghost died could have went out better like fighting the dragon to let Jon get free.

HBO going for a story book ending it seems. Oh well

I only have two complaints:

1. Everything was very dark lighting wise. Large portions of the battle, I had no idea WTF was happening.

2. Theon need an opportunity to scream the creed of his house. If EVER there was an appropriate time to say it, it would have been then.

Other than that, dominant.

They lost most of their army, but Arya should be able to takes Kings Landing.

The buildup and mystique of the NK all of these years and we’re left clueless as to his intentions as he gets fricking shanked out of nowhere by Arya from the top ropes.

frick me

see a lot of people reacting saying that Arya was in disguise as that WW General they showed briefly at the very end before she showed up. I can buy it, but I hate that it wasn't more clearly shown.

Doubt it. Every white walker we’ve seen die has burst into a thousand pieces of ice. No fave to steal. She just hid in the godswood and attacked at the perfect moment

We just got an episode that was literally the largest battle in the entire history of the medium of film.

I hear they used the most smoke machines and the least lightbulbs of any battle in film, ever

The book that would cover this will never be written. GRRM is too lazy.

Book will be different if it ever exists, just like the Frey pie there.

I'm beyond annoyed, all of you MORONS doing the downvoting, I challenge you to explain how any of that shite made sense or was a solid narrative . I'll be waiting.

Challenge accepted, met and won, dumbass. Try checking the only other response to your ridiculous tirade.

I don't know which is worse, that you aren't bright enough to understand the context of why they showed her being sneaky and how it relates to her being there to get the kill-shot or the classical Greek level irony you demonstrated by calling others morons.

Same. Great episode otherwise, but I just don't know how I feel about the way he went out. If there was anyone capable of pulling off the sneak attack of the century, Arya is the one to do it.. But damn, really figured they would at least go with a more creative demise of said plot device, or at least give a little more context in the scene leading up to the moment. Hopefully Bran will offer some more insight into everything and how things played out like they did.

The buildup and mystery behind the NK the show built over the last few seasons only to have it end like this. I think we were able to discern one trait from him total, and that was when he clearly smirked after withstanding dragonfire, showing that he may even have an inflated sense of himself.

Anyone else think it was odd how the fighting on the battlements/outside was just chaos, but switch to following Arya inside and how it was almost too calm/quiet? lol

EDIT: Gendry must have forged some powerful stuff in Arya. Gave her something more powerful than king's blood and it RIP'ed the NK quick-like

I agree. It's honestly not the Arya kill that upset me (although I get SJW vibes) it was the fact that other characters were more deserving.

If it had to be one single human character flying out of nowhere making the kill, I don’t mind it being Arya at all. I like that it was Arya. I just thought NK’s death would have involved more of a magical element, instead of just “_____ stabs NK.”

The story book ending would involve Jon killing the Night King.
