The dragon riding scene was lame, it was built up last season but they wasted it on a Neverending Story type scene.
just as a contrast, imagine John riding the dragon in the middle of a dispute about lineage with Dany, just as they're being torn apart
would there be anything else that proves to Dany that Jon is also a Targ (something she values so much internally)?
much more powerful and less kiddie. that would have real stakes and weight attached to it

1. Other than Jon and Drogon awkwardly making eye contact while making out with Daenerys, I didn’t find anything to be “cringy” or bad. Maybe I’m forgetting something.
2. I think there’s a good chance the next episode ends with the same shot as the trailer (with the Winterfell army and army of the dead face to face).
3. I think Bran will play a role in ultimately saving Jaime from the angry mob waiting for him. I don’t think Bran waiting for Jaime is inconsistent with his character. I would bet he knows Jaime has a role to play.

If John is aegon targ in the show then who is aegon targaryen in the books? As in the young griff that has the Golden company
Or has everyone given up on the books

He is an imposter. I’m about 90 percent certain he’s a Blackfyre.

Agree. Just need another book to confirm. Come on George.

But like griff is rhaegar and dorne lady’s kid and the firstborn true heir whereas Jon is also named aegon
Did rhaegar name both kids aegon?

I think Rhaegar believed his son was destined to be a savior and wanted him to be called Aegon.

I think first Aegon got his head smashed and they’re pretending Young Griff is him.

Night King seemed pretty comfortable riding a dragon.
Perhaps he was a Targaryen?
Nah, he was way before the time of the Targs.
He raised it from the dead. It's just bound to him like any other wight/white walker.

Why you're so caught up in this is just weird. Like five posts about it. It's like you just want to complain and don't want to whine about the dragons like everyone else so picked that instead.
she has a backup plan no doubt if that's really what is bothering you. The cross bow was a total giveaway. Like she expects Bronn to roll up on Tyrion with that thing and Tyrion will just be like Hey B let's drink!!

Are we sure Qyburn didn’t procure the gold and crossbow on his own, to get Bronn out of the city and turn him against Cersei?

Maybe it was just an attempt to end having to write around Bronn and Cersei not being able to film scenes together?
Like they started to write and were like,
quote:
"Okay, Jamie is gone - who can be the leader of the Lannister army?"
"Bronn is a fan favorite; he'd be a good choice."
"Great! Oh wait, remember, Lena and Jerome don't get along. It's in the contracts."
"Crap . . . then we can keep writing scenes were, say Qyburn or some guard, ferries the orders to Bronn?"
"That'll get redundant and take up time. Let's just move Bronn somewhere else and then we can cut down the scenes and save time."
"Good Enough. What's next?"
Does it seem too far-fetched?

but she is acting like a super cold, cocky entitled bitch even moreso than past seasons.
I think it’s one of her limitations as an actress, it’s her way of projecting a sense of command.

Lena does seem like a petty bitch to make the writers jump through hoops like that, so I’ll take it

I think Bran will be the one that calms everyone down when they all go after Jaime.
Bran has seen what the mad king did. So he will see that what Jaime did saved lots of lives.
Now, as far as pushing little kids out windows, maybe Bran forgives him.. or really doesn't care anymore since it set him on the path to make him 3ER .. and it's all trivial now compared to what's coming.

I worry they’ll use that scene to reveal Jon Snows true parentage. Dani will order Jaime’s death, and Jon will feel compelled to overrule her.

As someone who has been invested in this world for over a decade now between books and the show I only hope that Varys and Tyrion’s characters are given satisfying conclusions to their stories. It’s sucked seeing them being reduced to midget and neutered jokes.
The best thing about last nights episode were the callbacks to the pilot for me. The worst was the half assed reunion of John and Arya. Feel like that’s something readers and show watchers alike have wanted to see for years as they probably had the most genuinely close relationship of all the “Stark kids.”

The complaints here are nit-picky. There was no cliffhanger or reveals to come back to this season. There will be one and a half episodes of set ups (JS & DT love/conflict, Jamie vs. Winterfell, Sansa & DT cattiness, Arya/Hound/Brianna/Gendry/Thormund stuff, Cercie vs All). There will be 3 1/2 to 4 episodes of wars, clashes, backstabbing and character resolution then half an episode to wrap things up.
It’s all open right now which makes it good. Whose gonna die, whose gonna bend and whose gonna break. It was a good setup episode.

Tyrion is being set up to have a fall from grace arc that will end with him dying imo.
Varys I have no clue what they are doing with him but he is tied to Melissandre, and until she shows up he will be on afk.
