Lots of haters in this thread. I agree that the dialogue now isn't what it was back in S1-S4, but I had a feeling that at some point they'd have to go full speed ahead to end the series. And thanks to Ser Too Fat To Write it makes the pre-production process all the more difficult since there's barely any source material to go off of.

FWIW I thought it was a good episode overall, not great, but good. I think overall S6 was better than S7. This season could've benefited from the 10 episode format IMO...but then again I really view this season as S7 Part I and next season as Part II. I don't think I'll really know how S7 stacks up until the series is completed.

This video of kit/emilia/peter talking about Jon & Dany is very concerning to me. Like i understand there is a slight discomfort with the whole aunt/nephew thing but the way they are talking...i dont know...they are acting like its 100% ominous and i dont think the fans are with them.

Of course it is. They way it was shot with creepy brans voice over definitely means shite ain't gonna go down like we think. One of them dies and I'm fairly certain it will be dany.

thats not what im getting at. One of them dies? ok whatever. But if they spend the whole season with "oh no! youre my aunt! we could never be!" people are going to be pissed. The majority of the fan base loves these 2 together and they have rejected the incest as a viable story line reason for them not working. The show runners could waste a lot of time on that

I mean frick....Tyrion Lannister's parents were first cousins. I dont see how this is an issue in the world of this show.

I don't think the dialogue is bad at all. Littlefinger's is worse (they really came up with some cheesy shite for him), and Tyrion doesn't have as many quips, but honestly, that had already declined post book three.

With the exception of the occasional 'bad pussy' line and some occasional exposition, I think the dialogue is still really good.

I didn't see the video, but I think the final scene with Jon/Dany and Bran's voice in the background was designed to make it clear it won't be a fairy tale ending for them. D&D's post episode commentary added to that.

Maybe I'm naive here, but knowing these characters don't know the Jon/Targ angle, why are they all saying it's a bad idea?

What would make it a bad idea if they were married?

I kinda like the fact that it was Danny's dumb arse bringing dragons north of the Wall (and Jon's dumb arse going up there so she had to go rescue him) that allowed the NK to breach the Wall and put all of 7 kingdoms at risk.

The Night King has been planning for this all along. He knew he needed a wight dragon to bring down the wall and has been positioning people since the beginning to make this happen. Don't forget he's got some greenseer abilities as well.

I love that look Jaime and Tyrion shared when Euron got up and started talking at the meeting. I hope those two let their past go.

That's more of a book than show issue. They seemed to be pretty cool with one another before Tyrion went in to meet Cersei.

Also, The Hound's "conversation" with The Mountain was pretty good IMO.
