And I could easily make the argument that the biggest piece of shite was Robert Baratheon for starting a war over a woman, particularly given your reasoning

'Oh, I've been declared a traitor with my best friend Sean Beane and Jon Arryn was ordered to send my head to Kings Landing? Well Kings order is Kings order. '

5 minutes later

' Woah now, they kidnapped my future wife? I can accept my own execution but I will never stand for stealing my future wife. '

Same, but I'm still mad at myself for ruining the surprises last episode with Dorne and Melisandre. I can make it 12 more hours.

I have to say, I'm really happy with the decision I made.

Pretty sure that Robert was very unhappy when Lyanna got 'abducted.' I think that's why the Mad King called for his head in addition to Ned's.

I've always though taken it that Robert was upset about Lyanna more from the idea that it was an insult to his honor. He didn't care about Lyanna personally, but Rhaegar breaching the betrothal between Robert and Lyanna was an insult to him and to house Baratheon.

That is major reason why history was re-written such that few people seem to realize that Lyanna and Rhaegar are in love.

Also I'm upset that we won't get the scene where Jaime threatens to hang Edmure Tully if Riverrun doesn't surrender. That may be the best Jaime scene in the books. Everyone calls it incredibly dishonorable, but Jaime does it anyway because it will cause less bloodshed. It was a really neat scene showing how differently Jaime looks at honor compared to the rest of Westeros.

I respectfully disagree with your entire characterization of how Jaime resolved the siege of Riverrun.

So, would it be too bloodthirsty to hope that, if the Umbers do turn "Rickon" over to Ramsey, they do so after having contact with the group at the wall and substitute Olly as Rickon, with his tongue ripped out so he can't give it away?

Sorry it was the previous commander that threatened to hang him. Jamie comes and basically just threatens Edmure to the point of surrender. Nevertheless, I stand by what I said about Jaime's different perspective on honor and war.

I read the books before the show was announced and I did not realize there were internet groups dedicated to them.

I read the books then re-read them before ADWD came out.

I did not get the R+L = J on my own. I stumbled onto a internet group dedicated to the books and learned the theory and it made perfect sense.

But I would not have gotten it by myself from only the books so far.

Now the big question is, What Hodored up Hodor?

Think back to the conversation between Tyrion and Jaime talking about beetles...Conk Conk. Their cousin was kicked in the head by a horse and was knocked simple. I think something similar happened to Hodor. What, I don't know. That's my opinion.

Pretty sure that scene was foreshadowing that Ned or someone else is going to spar with him and smack him in the head so hard that he turns simple

"Keep your shield up, or I'll ring your head like a bell"

Which was also a call back to Jons training at castle black in season 1

I'm just disappointed in the 3 Eyed Raven. In the book he's basically part of the tree, but now he is just an old dude sitting in branches. I could see them making him normal while he and Bran are "dreaming", but I really wanted the scary, stuck with roots look while they were having current dialogue. Oh well, that's minor I guess. Very good episode

Did you catch who is playing the three eyed raven? Max Von Sydow.

Watch the person standing next to Bran when he is seeing Ned and Benjen as boys.

I'm still so lost on why the Umbers would hand over Rickon. They're the most ardent Stark backers in the book.

IF they do try to bring Rickon to Ramsey, wouldn't Osha be with him? And wouldn't Osha have something to say(as in prevent) anything bad happening to the possible last Stark for Winterfell?
