I don't think it's a coincidence that Jon keeps falling into positions of power. He hasn't leveraged himself to be Lord Commander or King in the North, but there he sits. Likewise, he doesn't want the iron throne...doesn't mean he won't end up there.

Also, before the battle of the bastards, Davos and Tormund were talking about not trusting kings, and how Jon Snow wasn't a king...does either of their loyalties change now that he has been anointed?

My guess for Sam is that he either discovers how to make Valryian steel or some other secret that will help them defeat the WWs

I'm rewatching the episode during lunch...the music is great in this episode in the beginning.

Also, I'm sad that Maergery is dead. She had potential.

After reading through this thread, I wonder how some of you are able to remember to breathe.

I dont think so... Tormund knows he owes his life and the Wildlings lives to John. John is his guy. No way he is changing. I also think Davos can tell John is different and the right kind of king to support.

After reading this thread it's easier to believe in how fricked up our current political situation is. These are the same mouth breathers that voted for the shitshow of a government we're stuck with.

Hey Sad Banana, quick, name one of the Supreme Court Justices without looking it up~!

I agree with this. Jon EARNED his position instead of being born into his position.

Maybe they mean "king" in the way he talks about himself, thinks he deserves this or that, feels entitled. Although Jon Snow may be hailed as "King of the North", it doesn't mean has the entitled, greedy, and poor character of the kings before Davos. In other words, king by title maybe, but not king in psychology/spirit.

Agreed. I had thought of her on the up and up for quite awhile, kind of weird how easily she went out in a burst of flames just evaporated.

While I likely agree with your political stances, you sound like a complete tool.

It's a TV show. Not everyone is studying family trees and maps.

It is for those dragons. And these are couch potato dragons. Two of them have spent most of their lives in a dungeon. They are out of shape for sure.

If goddam Monarch butterflies can fly a couple thousand (few hundred miles without a break) miles than giant dragons can sure as hell fly a couple hundred miles without a break.

The bastard son is Jon Snow. Dany is Jon Snow's aunt. How does this play in the game, though? Does this give Dany the right?

If Jon is legimate- no, just like Prince Charles dying in England would make his son, not his brother next in line for the throne.

Wait, I'm being insulted on the country's political voting strategy on an example of appointed government officials and not voted-in government officials?

Am I supposed to be offended?

I have a question about Cersei and Tommen...did Cersei think Tommen would do what he did? I'm assuming she did what she did to primarily rid King's Landing of the High Sparrow and The Faith and also to get rid of Maergery and her brother...and that she wanted to rule. But she couldn't rule unless Tommen was gone, right? So did her plan go perfectly or was Tommen's death something she didn't expect?

i seriously doubt she thought tommen would die

tommen dying basically has removed cersei's last fiber of being from humanity

which is why her coronation was so ominous, like a satanic ritual
