I am hoping this is a villain turn by Varys. He got the frick out right before the Masters showed up. Just saying.
Everything Tyrion has done in Meereen has been totally pointless so far. I'm just not sure what was the point of the Red Priests and the truce. Danny is back, and I assume Drogon is gonna frick up that fleet. Then the Greyjoys show up and they leave for Westeros one way or the other.

They show that the Tyrion (and the Westorsi by extention) are different and don't really belong AND they are really just treading water and need to leave. Once they defeat the attack, I think Danys will need some extra persuading to leave (as she always wants to stay and help), and Tyrion may be able to be the most convincing.
pointless Tyrion / worm/ M conversations,

To be clear, I think Tyrion teaching Grey Worm and Missandei to have an identity beyond slavery is actually ok. It's an interesting point about what Danny did not give the slaves she freed. Everything just feels like a stretch it out situation though

The vision Dany had in a previous episode showed her walking around the iron throne and it you could tell the entire place had been burned badly (along with some snowfall). I think KL is fated to be destroyed. My money is on Cersei with the WF before Dany even gets there. I think Dany will show up just to help fight the WW and then claim her place at the throne with hardly any objections.

So many of the problems with the show now are related to the overwhelming number of plot lines. That's why Martin is having a helluva time trying to finish the series. He's simply introduced too many variables. And, unlike Martin with his books, the show must go on every year and trying to cram everything into the 10 episode format necessitates the choppy shite we've gotten after season four. And I'm not sure if HBO decided that they didn't want to extend the series beyond 7 seasons or if Weiss and Benioff decided that or what, but it is hamstringing them to the point that they can no longer produce a show that lives up to the expectations set by previous seasons as some of the best TV in the golden age of television.

My hope is that the 2 of them are left behind to watch over Mereen once Dany and crew leave.

Point was, off screen deaths are getting par for the course in this show and I dont know why. And we are talking major characters, because they don't seem to have any issues with merking extras in full gory detail.
I agree. I didn't mind how the Waif went though because they played up Arya's use of her blindness and the best way to show that is to turn the lights out. Plus it was a great lead in with the dripping blood and then seeing her face on the wall.

this has been my assumption all along
its the only reason for showing them so much
that and they want to give dinklage more screentime, but even he is less than amusing in the presence of these 2
i enjoy his talks with varys, but with Grey Work and Missandei its painful

I guess I see that. I look at it though as a potential payoff with the Waif kicking her arse the entire time to finally take her out. And they still could have showed the aftermath if not the actual fight. We get the candle going out and that's it? Hell even sound effects would have been more satisfying.
Maybe it's just the fact that the Blackfish was just:
"Oh yea, he died fighting"
And that maybe was still fresh to me. I'm getting sick of the off-screen deaths though.

Yeah, that would have been a much needed addition.

That did irritate me but I'm hoping he escaped and they are just saying that he died fighting. Although, I'm sure I'll be disappointed.

Again, I have no idea what you're talking about, but please carry on. This should be good
But, promises are promises. In my benevolence, I will do only one, just to stretch out the ole kung fu.
You and OleWarSkuleAlum are the same person.

I can only assume that you thought you were being clever by posting your first post there, trying to throw people off, but it didn't take very long at all for you to run screaming to your nearest Game of Thrones thread. The fricking Hodor thread, no less. But, it's not your only movie board preference. You both enjoy Orange is the New Black.

have a hard on for Christopher Hitchens
Of course, He/You and You/You both posted in that thread. Well, I say that, but actually, he/you started the thread and disappeared, and you/you then filled in for him. I subtly called you out on pages 2 and 3 of that thread btw.
But, posting with both accounts in threads is something you seem to enjoy doing.
So there you go. It's Colonel Muster in the drawing room with a candlestick up his arse. Have a nice day. Pet Claude and Sophie for me.

Overall I was a bit let down by the episode. But there were some high points.
Things I liked that haven't been mentioned:
When Pod says there appears to be a siege in place and Brienne zings back: "You have a keen military mind".
I think that was the first joke she ever made. Vicinity to Jamie must have gotten her kind of giddy.
and
I liked the whole Hound/Dondarion/Thoros stuff. The hanging scene kind of brought me back to Lonesome Dove where they hung Jake. I was half expecting Beric to say something like: "I'm sorry you crossed the line, though Lem."

i thought brienne's scenes were the best of the episode. the one-liner to pod, in the tent with jamie, and especially with the blackfish...
that last scene where she gives her speech and thrusts the letter out at blackfish was great.
"that is what i have done, and that is what i will continue to do, until the day i die!"

The Bronn/Pod sequence was my favorite. Bronn kills every scene that he's in.

But why you want to hijack the thread, tho?
Can't you and Carson take ya'll stuff somewhere else? This board used to be one of the few free from such shenanigans.
