I agree with this in terms of Jon, and felt that way when whenever Dance With Dragons first came out. I don't want a revived Jon saving the day, just seems like cheating, and there are too many unWhoever characters in the books anyways. I want Jon to barely survive his attack, being saved/healed by the Red Woman. He at least passes out in the court yard, so when he awakens it can be ambiguous if he was killed/revived or just on the brink of death and saved by Melisandre, but I don't want him rising from death hours or days after. I hope it is this way in both the books and show.
I agree with all of this.

If they didn't already show the stuff with Beric Dondarrion, I would agree.

Hodors are going to have no idea who Beric is.

Were going to get a "PREVIOUSLY ON" with the VoiceOver guy from honest movie trailers explaining to them slowly as possible about that

False...Berics trial by combat with the hound was one of my favorite scenes.
EtA: i fat fingered my way into this thread and read that post before i realized i wasnt in the hodor thread.

Whelp, I guess now you can't go back to the Hodor thread. Like I said to FTH in the middle ground thread, what has been seen can not be unseen...and you've just seen the biggest Hodor spoiler of the season.

Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't spoiler Hardhomme. For as angry as Cokes & co gets about spoilery, the 'previously on' segments are the true spoilers.
If they show any past character you haven't seen in a while, then BAM there they are on the 'previously on' you immediately know they are on the show.
That one episode this year, gave more R+L=J innuendo than the books themselves, IMO. So I can see they can get it. Or come up with something similar.

Yeah, they have established that this "Lord of Light" does grant powers. From Shadow monsters to bringing back the dead. Reviving people changes them. Bedric was no longer the flamboyant Southern knight. Jon would change as well. Weird to die and then come back to life and then after that lead the people who killed you while you are fighting an army of undead people as well. I think with the wights and bringing up the dead as it is, it does make more sense for Jon just to badly injured.

Beric changed, but it was also revived multiple times. One revival probably wouldn't change snow considerably
Maybe the "change" will be a loss of his sense of duty to the watch
And honestly, he kind of has to die. The whole point of killing him IMO is to get him out of his vows, to allow him to grow out of the same story he's been in.

That's true.
Maybe see him take Winterfell and fly the Stark Banners for the Targaryens. Or more importantly, defend the world from the zombies.

You only live six or seven times.

So what are the chances of Jon dying, being taken over as a wight and therefore having knowledge of the White Walker's plans and purposes but then taking back control of his body either through magic, revival, or something involving his blood as a Stark or Targaryen?
Posted on 6/7/15 at 12:37 pm to SundayFunday
I don't think wights are that conscious to what they or the WWs are doing. They are just mindless zombies
Posted on 6/7/15 at 12:40 pm to wildtigercat93
I Know but im thinking WWs try and control his body, obviously they have to have conscious control of them to do their bidding specifically, and with Jon's probable magic, he doesn't fall under but instead is still conscious when they try to take over and he sees in their mind (short time warg possibly?)
Background to this theory of mine:
1) Humans can be warged into and their mines be present i.e. Hodor
2) Cold hands possibly being an old stark and having knowledge of magic and possibly the white walkers plans
3) My foil hat is better than everyone elses

Replying to keep you from being the last post in both this and the Hodor thread.
You know what the consequences of that can be.
