does anyone believe the situation with Jon Snow is the reason why WoW has not been published?

The real reason is because GRRM writes on one computer in one room in New Mexico, travels constantly (and doesn't write when he does, and has had some severe problems with where to go with the story for about a decade now.

They could have Mel swipe his body before they can burn it, and hide it is the ice cells under Castle Black. Or they can have Ghost (who a lot of book readers have believed Jon warged into) drag his body off and bury it or something.

If they were willing to do something like this that would OBVIOUSLY point to Jon being brought back...why wouldn't they just bring his arse back?

So that Jon Jon isn't a liar to entertainment weekly?

Or they can just skip the Night's Watch and the Wall and/or Castle Black all together and just focus on Bran beyond the wall (and the White Walker through his storyline), and then pick up Jon's/Castle Black's story in season 7.

Yes, let's just skip the most important storyline in the show for a season so that Jon isn't called a liar

I happen to agree that having Jon Snow sit out an entire season would be bad for the series. It just messes up the flow of the show. How does his body get preserved the entire time? Sure, lots of ice at Castle Black but what incentive do the men who just killed him have to keep his body around?

I didn't say I thought it was a good idea, just that it was a possible one. If they went this route, they would have to largely ignore what is going on at the Wall for the season. Considering how hot that storyline is, I can't see them doing it (but then again I didn't see Hardhome coming either).

I guess they could replace it with Bran, but that story would need to get impressive as the frick and would have to flashback a bit to be "this is what was going on with Bran while xx was happening last season". I think that gets a bit too convoluted.

I don't see it happening, but if Kit isn't listed for next season that would be our only hope of Jon Snow coming back...

...unless they worked out some deal where Kit doesn't get credited until (literally) the moment the episode when he is resurrected airs. Now THAT would be some awesome trolling.

You're gonna be inconsolable if GRRM was just trolling everyone with Jon's storyline (or just a piss poor storyteller), and he is really dead...like really dead...like never coming back dead.

Don't feel bad, because I would too.

I give it a %3 chance that jon is actually dead. IT was in my head more when melisandre was with stannis. But after she came back I was like yea she's going to save jon, same as the books.

But I will be super pissed as well if he is

One thought on last night's episode that I haven't heard anyone bring up yet:

For those who think Stannis is alive, you are not thinking about the Bolton's part to play with his death. People who look at the scene and try and say whether or not Brienne was hit from behind or whatever, it just wouldn't make any sense that the Bolton's wouldn't scour the battlefield and make sure that Stannis' head would be on a spike.

I assume that's what the two soldiers who Stannis killed were doing: they were two of several search parties out looking for Stannis, and they didn't call out because they wanted to be the ones to bring his body back and get the credit.

However, if the search just stops with them the Bolton's would be idiotic, which we know they are not. My thoughts are Brienne finished Stannis off, and jetted before Bolton's men found her.

The only possible way Stannis survived under this line of thinking is if Brienne was hit from behind by Bolton men, and Stannis and Brienne are both captured and flayed/tortured.

I just honestly can't think of one single reason what keeping Stannis Alive at this point accomplishes

Or if Brienne finds a reason to spare him and they both bolt?

I seem to jump in the threads 50 pages in.

Arya is my favorite character in the series, has been since early on in the books. And pretty much the one thing I've been holding on to this entire series is that they haven't messed with her part too much. Although she got very little screen time. And that they didn't even ugly her up a little when she was selling oysters. But man these past two episodes pissed me off with her.

Having her not even be able to finish her first assignment was pretty disappointing. Maybe that's what GRRM has her doing pretty soon In the next book but it still sucked.

NOTHING. There is nothing left for him to do. All of his people died or deserted him. Red woman deserted him, his wife killed herself, he killed his daughter and brother. That's it. End of his story. The story has to start cutting down all the potential kings we have, so that's why he is dead.

There is a zero percent chance they should be able to escape without the Bolton's finding them. Brienne can get out of dodge because they don't even know she's there, but confirming Stannis' death by finding his body should be priority one in the battle's aftermath.

Brienne could try to use killing Stannis to parlay her way into Winterfell to be closer to Sansa (who is no longer there).

I actually believed the two goobers after the show talking about stannis being finished off. I mean brienne killing him actually brought a story full circle.

Could Stannis being burned somehow be part of bringing jon back? Something like Dany and the witch with the dragon eggs?

You say that now (hell, everyone says that at some point with the books/show), but I bet when next season rolls around you'd be drawn right back in.
