So... Show Brienne kills both Stannis and the Hound. Right-o. Liked the rest of the episode, was fun watching my Illiterati friends flip their shite when Jon got shanked.

Robert Strong really creeped me out.

Some thoughts on the quality of the episode without getting too much into the back and forth of is he/she dead or not (because to be honest I don't really care all that much if Brienne killed Stannis or not):
1- The show is still a good show but to me the quality of the season this year has been a bit of a decline from the high point in seasons past.
2- The plotting and motivations of the characters just don't seem to be quite as tight as in past years. Thorne has been all over the place - letting Jon and the Wildlings through the gate and telling him he had a good heart (but would get them killed) and now brands him a traitor? Ollie was staring at Jon with hate forever but hesitates for about an hour before joining in on the stab stab. And the little board with "Traitor" written on it was kind of cheesy. Who know what the frick Ellaria is thinking.
3- Speaking of Dorne - did Myrcella ever wear a golden crown? If not, Maggie the Frog is a lying mother f'er. (Or Myrcella is not totally dead).
4- Thought the Cersi penance walk was done very well. Couldn't see how they could do it much better (other than maybe a few more sparrows to get through that crowd and Robert Strong in all white armor but those are minor things).
5- Same with Arya's story line. Very well done. The way they had two Jaquen's and all the face peeling was kind of weird but nothing to really complain about. I choose to interpret the end of that sequence where it show's Arya's own face as an homage to the Luke as Vader scene in The Empire Strikes Back (or was it Return of the Jedi?)
6- I also choose to interpret the spiraling Dothraki Khallasar as a tribute to the scene in The Two Towers where the Rohirim circle Aragon, Legolas and Gimli. Must be an old favorite horse lords maneuver.
7- I feel kind of bad for D&D in that they've gone through so much trouble trying to sell the "Jon is permanently dead" idea and I think less than 10% of the people I've read on any site, readers or non readers, are buying it. I would almost like to see it actually happen (but not really).

Jon Snow's resurrection will be the worst kept secret between now and the start of season 6. It is pretty much a given.
The actor has gone on record saying that he is dead and is not coming back, but come on....

Gendry is a pretty unimportant character. He can stay wherever the hell he wound up for all I care.

why was GHOST left out??
They should shown him being all agitated when Ollie came in, and then going ape shite when they attack jon. And jon should be calling out to him, but they have completely abandoned the warging aspect to the story.
smh

Because DandD don't understand those parts of the book.

I enjoyed the episode and thought it did a good job of covering some major plot lines from the book. Going forward:
1- Jon Snow is dead. Jon Targaryen will rise as Azor Ahai, the Prince that was Promised, the next Last Hero... Henry Jones Jr. sucks and deserves to be locked out of this series. Rhaegar was royalty and can take what he wants. Lyanna wanted him too. Not their or Jon's fault Robert was a spoiled brat and Aerys was a batshit crazy King who liked to torture people.
2- Sign me up for the not sure if Stannis is dead. No main character was killed off screen in the books or show. I'm expecting we see him in a Reek/Brienne/Sansa arc next year.
3-Robert Strong was a little cartoony, but I liked his portrayal. What else is a zombie robot supposed to look like?
4- Really wanted Drogon to roll up on the khalasar, but I guess in reality they would have killed him fairly quickly if they wanted to. Tyrion in charge of Mereen is the best possible replacement for the dumbasses killing off Barristan.
5- Really relieved the show didn't spoil anything. Hoping and praying the Fat Man gets Winds out before next season.

See I am the opposite. I wanted them to spoil everything because that book isn't coming out by next season anyway. Bring down the wall

I am really made they didn't have ayra have any dreams. i doesn't appear that she is leaving bravos anytime soon so I guess next season. I really thought was down after the sample chapter so I am curious to how that works out.

Didn't her dream occur when she was blind?

So what are the chances that Dany gets passed around the Dothraki hoard for a little rapey rapey before she is rescued by Ser friendzone and the boy toy (or once Drogon heals he comes and rescues her)?
I know she'll eventually gain control of the Dothraki, but knowing D&D & GRRM she'll I'm guessing there's chance that it won't happen easily.

I took the "golden crown" to be more a reference to the blonde hair. I am a lowly Hodor though
