I think he was trying to articulate that it was a good episode in that it advanced the story at the wall BUT could have been done in half the time and been just as good and then we could have had half a show to advance another story line.
It seemed like he was saying that it was the worst in that it wasted valuable screen time, and I agree with him. Coupled with the fact that the story is only half way done because the battle is still raging and Jon is North of the wall. It didn't answer much, unlike Blackwater Bay that was an awesome battle scene and culminated with Tywin's return to KL.
It seemed to be a little drawn out on just one story line among many for a 9th episode of the season which ends next week.
At least we get 66 minutes next week, but then it's over for 9 months
Finally, somebody gets me.
And the worst episode of GoT is still better than most shite on TV. So I'm not saying it was terrible...it's more of a testament of how good the show usually is.

Yeah, I don't think the actual content could ever be "bad". It's more about how much time they dedicate to which plot lines. Even if people don't like the entire episode being dedicated to the attack on the Wall, you can't argue it wasn't well-made.

I laughed out loud when Jon was holding his dying girlfriend in the middle of the battle which was still very heated.
It wasn't like there were only one of two bad guys left. That was a poorly filmed scene IMO, but it got a moment for Jon and his ginger to have one last scene together. I just wish it would have been behind a building or something. They were right in the middle of a raging battle of wildlings and crows.

Read about Halfway through this thread so far. Can't understand how anybody could say this was the worst episode of the series. I for one enjoyed this one more than blackwater.

Gave his (royal) blood so the red titty witch (love whoever it was that said that) could kill her three names or whatever.

He's still the king's son. He has to be important down the line.

No one can really prove that and even still if they could Stannis would have a better claim than a bastard

Gendry always seemed like a little bitch anyway. his high born blood was weak.

Plus, as Varys said, Power is an illusion. Who is supporting his claim to the throne? The lannisters aren't obviously. Martels won't because they don't like his father, Starks are non existent....so who is lining up to put a crown on his head?
