The Hodors bitching about Dany's story sucking and being slow are cracking me up.
They will never know what it is like to truly wait.
I feel for the people who have been reading from the beginning 17 years of waiting for dragons.

From the Long Night wiki:
The first members of the Night's Watch drove the Others back in the Battle for the Dawn. Other legends state a great hero, who in the eastern tradition is known as Azor Ahai, led the war against the Others wielding his sword of fire, Lightbringer, driving the Others back. In the Westerosi tradition, he may be known as the last hero.
Steps were taken to ensure that the people would never be caught offguard by an invasion from the North again. Bran the Builder supposedly raised the Wall, an imposing structure of solid ice and magic, stretching one hundred leagues from the Gorge in the west to the Shivering Sea in the east, cutting off the Lands of Always Winter from the remainder of Westeros. The Night's Watch guarded the Wall and protected the people from the threat that lay to the north

I know people who haven't started because they would rather not finish 5 in a couple months and wait 10 years for the last two.

I started in 1999. Or 2000. Somewhere around then.
Trust me, the wait for AFFC sucked. And then after reading that shitshow, the long arse wait for DWD made me not give a shite about the books anymore.
Love the show, but DWD bored me to tears.

Pretty much the same for me, started in 1998 with GOT in paperback. Was annoyed with AFFC after waiting 5 years, then after ADWD was such an incomplete book after 6 years I really don't care all that much anymore.
I'll read it when it's finished (if it gets finished anyway). Too many other great fantasy series out there that actually get updated in a timely fashion for me to really worry about it.

Request up on the Fark board
I think a neat gif would be the scene where the mutineers have Hodor surrounded and are prodding him, have labels of Reader over each of the mutineers and of course Hodor over Hodor.
Like this Red Wedding gif did:

So Dany has the master textile workers of the Free Cities make her a giant Targaryen Flag, yet she has been wearing the same outfit in every episode for two years?
C'mon Man.
Even with the Dothraki she was changing 'fits.
I just realized this when I watched a clip on the other board "Dracarys".

LOL
I wish I knew how to edit gifs. I remember playing with some program years ago, but don't remember it.
I was going to do Fr33's thing on the Fark Board, I have a different source pic.
I actually like that idea (never got the Sherlock meme Fr33)

To be honest. I wish I wouldn't of started the show or the books yet.
I enjoyed Breaking Bad so Much because the only episode I caught live was the finale.
I really enjoy Binge watching.
Though again this show has been a fun ride. It's just so epic I really look forward to it months in advance. (Same with TWD)

I thought this was the worst episode of the series. I know that seems like an overreaction, but some episode has to be the worst, right?
The LF/Sansa and QoT/Margaery scenes were ok, but didn't they do the same shite the previous episode? They pretty much spelled out who was behind Jefferey's death, but did it without anyone saying "I did it". I know the scenes served other purposes as well, but I don't see why they had to be so forward about it after spending time on it last week.
The Jamie/Cersei scene was about what you would expect. Only, you know, he kind of just raped her recently?
The Meereen capture bothered me as well. This was basically the conversation:
Slave: We don't know how to fight
Grey Worm: Here are some swords
Slave: Yay
Very anticlimactic for a place that Dany is going to be at for a long time.
Just all around a pretty boring episode until the last minute. I guess now that the show is venturing into AFfC and ADwD it should be expected. I know some people defend those books, but they just aren't on the same level as the first three. Especially when it comes to translating over to the screen.

Yeah, I was really hoping they would drag the sack of Mereen out some more...now the Mereenese knot is in full effect

I have to confess that I am having a hard time working up much interest on whether that Other they showed changing the baby last night was the Night King or not. I'm just not sure what impact it would have.
I think it's the NK because his head looks like a crown. It's the first thing I thought when I saw him. I'm sure everyone did.

I would guess that he wasn't the Great Other. For some reason I've always felt that the Great Other (and Rhollor for that matter) are more like supernatural deities that are further removed from man-like forms and take less of a "hands on" approach to things. I could be wrong though.
I've always thought the GO was like Rhollor too. Does Mel say that AA has to be reborn to defeat the GO? I gotta look that one up. Or did he defeat the GO already?
