I have to confess that I am having a hard time working up much interest on whether that Other they showed changing the baby last night was the Night King or not. I'm just not sure what impact it would have.
I would guess that he wasn't the Great Other. For some reason I've always felt that the Great Other (and Rhollor for that matter) are more like supernatural deities that are further removed from man-like forms and take less of a "hands on" approach to things. I could be wrong though.

That's why I defend Bran and Brienne's chapters when people mention how boring they are.
Bran chapters are awesome, some of my favorite in the whole series.
Brienne chapters still suck but yeah there's some good stuff in them... Like when she met the would-be new High Septon on the King's Road in her first AFFC chapter.

Yeah. I'm in this boat as well. Doesn't matter if he is the Night's King or not. Just a cool speculation talking point.

It was bullshite the way Meera was handled in the episode last night.
Excellent hunter, somewhat of a badass... gets cold cocked coming around a corner by a degenerate lowlife then treated as the typical victim woman.
Bush league but whatever.
can you imagine the meltdown our fellow Maesters would have if the Jon Snow parentage question was answered on HBO first?

I'm sure he was told to stay 100 times. The boy don't listen and Hodor only listens to him.

I am praying for this.

Ser Pounce is cute just like I imagined him.

How's that? the Last Hero, AA and the Nights King all lived during the Age of Heroes.
The Long Night occurred during the Age of Heroes
what came first?
Bran Stark building the Wall?
The Night Fort being ran for 13 years by the Night King?
The Creation of the Night's watch?
The invasion of the Other's into the land of men?
We have to think that of course the Other's first came south and wrecked everything.
Then they were beaten back.
Then the Night's watch was founded and then the wall was constructed.
So if the Night's King was the 13th head of the Night's watch, I still think the timeline doesn't make sense.
It's like saying the Pyramids were built and Cleopatra reigned in Egypt in the Bronze age. Yet her reign is closer to today than it was to the construction of the first pyramid. Even though they are in the same place at the same "era" they didn't happen at the same time.
I get it's a fantasy show and the laws of seasons are not correct. But the timeline of the rotation of the planet (days and nights every day) seems about constant and the timeline of people seem about right. So based on that, I don't see how the person who is the head of the immortal eternal Others is someone who was born well after their invasion and defeat.
But again, only GRRM knows, we all guest have theories.

Not sure if this has already been posted, but apparently HBOGo had the head White Walker listed as Night's King, then they removed it.

yeah, that's crazy.
Damn, I was reading the other thread and then replied. Thinking I was still here. I'm not going to edit though because then they will think spoilers.
I just said that the part with the dragon flying from the promo over the city was already shown.
In Bran's vision.

That happened to me 2 days before Chicken posted the thread and that's why I rarely scope out the Hodor threads now (other than the Locke post in there that was mentioned in the Middle Ground thread).

Dammit do I lose my Maester chain too?
I'm just going to hope it's glanced over. The guy I was talking to knows his stuff in most posts anyway.
If I edit or say anything, someone will comment and when Co kes comes and finally gives his lengthy summary he will see someone comment about a reader and then BAM.. it will happen all over again.
Plus I see a few of ours there still.]

Didn't kingbob knowingly post in there and already get unbanned 2 days later??
I think you're safe since it was unknowingly.

What if they didn't start counting Lord Commanders at 1?
The Last Hero set off with 12 companions and it is said that the original members of the Nights Watch fought the Battle for the Dawn.
So what if the Nights Watch had 13 original members, one of whom is the Last Hero?
As a tribute to his fallen 12 companions, the Last Hero officially founded the NW and started counting at Lord Commander #13.

Everything I've seen indicates that the order of occurrences is:
1. Others all over doing bad stuff
2. Hero pushes Others back north
3. Wall built/Night's Watch created to keep the Others on the north side of the Wall.
4. Night's King falls for Other on other side of the wall
It just doesn't make sense for the Wall to have been constructed (or Night's Watch to have been started) prior to the Last Hero forcing the Other's back to the north side of the Wall.
Even assuming that the first 12 Commanders served very very short terms (a big assumption, considering they serve for life), it seems very unlikely to me that the guy responsible for pushing the Others back would be there at the founding of the Night's Watch and then not be the leader of the organization the first, second, third, etc. time it elects a leader but then finally decide to throw his name in the ring the 13th time.
