I wonder how many troops Stannis added with the bank gold? Looked like at least 20-40,000.

The Mountain's. The question is whose head is attached to the Mountain's body, if he has a head at all.

I don't think he has a head period.
Possible heads it could be though?
Robb's
Joffreys
Tywins
Ned's

I thought the 3 eyed crow had basically become a tree, his face being the only human characteristic yet, and it was part of the tree

i know it's fantasy but how can a headless being respond to a command and even fight?

Yeah they really made no effort to recreate him as described in the book. He just looked like some 70-80yo man hanging out in some tree roots.

I don't know. However GRRM used to write for the Twilight Zone and he adapted the story of the hollow knight in Roger Zelazny's short story The Last Defender of Camelot whose actions are controlled by Merlin. When Lancelot knocks off his helmet he discovers that the knight is headless, a spirit raised by Merlin in order to be his champion.
Another possibility is it's robert Bartatheons head. Only thing I've got there is that his name is now Ser ROBERT Strong

right. throwing stoneheart into this season, at the end no less, would of overshadowed a lot.
but people, myself included, didn't think about that prior to the finale
I was disappointed at first, but after thinking about it its not really surprising at all that it wasn't included.
Even though it would've been an amazing scene, nothing really happens with Lady Stoneheart. It would've been a really cool way for an episode/season to end, but where do you go from there?
You can't introduce a cliffhanger like that and then have it not be really important to the overall story, and as of now (as in, through ADWD), undead Catelyn just isn't very important to the story. It would've completely overshadowed the episode, and the season, and everything between now and when/if she actually does something.
Think about trying to explain it to a Hodor:
Hodor: "Man, what an epic scene of Stark lady being still alive and hanging Freys!!!1!1! I don't even care about spoilers, tell me more about what is going to happen with her!1!! I cant wait until Season Five!1!!!!1!"
Me: "Well, she eventually meets up with Brienne and Pod. And has them hanged. But then something happens and instead of killing them Brienne has to kill Jamie."
Hodor: "Oh. So she basically tries to kill everyone who is concerned about the safety of her daughters."
Me: "Pretty much."
Hodor: "Well what else does she do?"
Me: "Books don't say yet. Maybe she will do something in Season 6 of the show that matters. Maybe."

That actually makes sense, and with Cercei being bat shite crazy, seems like a solid prediction.

From Ace Midnight in the Hodor thread...
Geez...obvious book reader is obvious.
quote:
OMG who the frick cares who is Jons mom.
Doesn't it become important if Ned isn't his father?
And his father, for that matter, should he turn out to be Rhaegar Targaryen?

also from the hodor thread
quote:
Jon had to have some Stark blood in him, he looked just like Ned, that was part of the reason Catelyn hated him so much. I remember at one point she told someone that Jon looked more like Ned then her children did. I don't think Jon is Ned's son, but definitely think he has some Stark heritage.
quote:
I'm almost totally convinced of this. Why else would Ned find Lyanna in a bloody bed (presumably having given birth), Lyanna says "Promise me, Ned" before she dies (presumably to take care of her son), and Ned comes home with a baby.

I can vouche for ace. I reached the conclusion having never read book 1 and being halfway through book 2
Eventually one must wonder why Ned, who whenever mentioned is mentioned as being a 100% stand up guy, has a bastard. Then you start thinking what motive would he have for not telling jon about his mom. You figure most people would tell him about the skank he was banging.

this is why Cokes is King Hodor. it came from Ned's own mouth in season 1.
quote:
Say what? Lyanna has literally never been on the show. Where are you getting that information from? (talking about Lyanna's "promise me")
This is why we can't have nice things..

who posted the second bit, that's a book reader
Posted on 6/16/14 at 2:11 pm to Byron Bojangles III
Ned does mention his promise to Lyanna when talking to Robert in the show, no?

I have warned all my Hodor friends to not even bother going in there. Really not even worth it.
I was so concerned about things being ruined for me I read books 2-5 after the 2nd season. This story is too good to be ruined.
