And finally one reason, in case you didn’t notice, a lot happens this season
right. throwing stoneheart into this season, at the end no less, would of overshadowed a lot.
but people, myself included, didn't think about that prior to the finale

of course they would. they don't know any difference

Yeah, that's the impression I'm getting as well.

you missed quoting this part...

It just didn’t end up being a part of what was going to happen this season.
which makes it sound like it will be another season

I never did think that the Lady Stoneheart bit amounted to much other than the Brienne/Jiamie stuff so if they find another way to do that I'd be fine with writing her out.

Honestly, it's still a top 10 episode from me. If it had managed to accurately portray Tywin's demise and Stoneheart, it would have probably been the best. Tywin's death was still a great scene, but not bringing up Tysha I think is just a pure frick-up from D&D's perspective and never even considered that they wouldn't have that in there.

I know...
but the line that I quoted made it seem like they didn't really consider LSH to be a big part of the story and that it might be too much of a hassle

I could have told you that they were going to replace Tysha with Shae before the episode
no idea why you thought they would bring up Tysha since the show didn't build up the Tysha story enough
hodors saw how much Tyrion cared for Shae for 3 seasons, they were more connected to Tyrion/Shae
it just made more sense on the show

They've still mentioned her like twice every season, and LF could have brought it up to Sansa and Tyrion to Jaime again. I'd like to have more faith in the Hodors to remember it than that. Plus couldn't the recap cover that pretty well?

Just watched the season finale. Excellent indeed!! Again there were departures from the books but well done none the less. The fight between The Hound and Brienne added some much needed action to Brienne's story-line. Jon burning Ygritte's body was moving. The end for Jojen was sad but logical. Cersei's confession to Tywin also made sense considering her defiant nature. Varys spontaneously deciding to travel with Tyrion was a bit odd but apparently Varys did not anticipate Tyrion killing his father. Arya sailing off to Bravos was a fit and fine ending to the season.
Even after having read all the books, I have to say that the GoT TV series is easily the most engaging and interesting show I have watched. Overall the deviations from the books have been well executed and a net positive for the series.

but we were spared from "where do whores go" for the rest of the series. worth it imo

Yep

the episode was great but could have been better. regardless of what happened in the books, LSH would have been such a good cliff hanger. two things I would have changed would be
1) having Stannis arrive at the end of episode 9 instead of the beginning of episode 10 and
2) ending with lady stoneheart on 10
If Vince Gilligan was writing this show, he would have done it that way I am convinced. Regardless, I love the show and I am actually a fan of the way the show is tying up some seemingly pointless loose ends from the book and tweaking some things (i.e. Brienne and the Hound).
Fat arse needs to write faster.

Does Tyrion have to ask that? No, so just omit that part.

Martin is a bad writer; as in, every sentence I've read of his is pretty offensive to good taste. The writers on the show improve his style immensely...and in fact most of the great dialogue in the show is not in the books (from what I understand).
wtf?

I personally think LSH was a terrible decision by GRRM. I would be all for the TV show completely leaving her out.

But we also didn't get "She's been fricking Lancel, Osmund Kettleblack, and Moonboy for all I know."
If we don't meet Kevan in S5E1 I'm going to be pissed.

I think LSH is pretty badass part of the books. To leave her out would cause trouble in Brianne, Jamie and pods stories. Since we are left with her about to hang Brianne and Pod in AFFC
I understand not every little thing in the books can make the show but at the same time they create these lame pointless scenes like Missandei and Grey Worm.
And it's not just that. The scenes that they do go with from the books they have completely fricked up on the show. A perfect example was Tyrion killing Tywin last night. Why change that from the books? When it's moments like that in the books that is what makes this series so great
