if he gets written out this season I don't see why they would include him in next season.

I'd imagine if he's important enough in the future in the books, he'll have to be introduced at some point in the show.

Maybe the writers didn't think it was a good idea to introduce him this season or maybe they are just waiting for the finale'

next season will really be great, a lot of very cool things happen.

I'm kinda excited about seeing Dorne and Oldtown and the Maesters school from Feast in season after next. That was a book I appreciated more after the second read. It added a new element to the story and filled in some of the history which I liked.

I'm considering starting my third read through this summer

Thats what I was thinking. I was looking forward to some white walker gang vs. cold hands battles. Would have been pretty cool.

I really think that next season has every main character (minus Dany) in a much more interesting situation than they currently are in.

Yeah I was talking about it with a friend. There are going to be a lot of big moments next season that could all anchor episodes.

joffrey dying
ygritte dying
red viper vs mountain
stannis saving the day
tywin dying
lady stoneheart

Does anyone think the Hound dies next episode? I'm thinking he does unfortunately. (I still think he is alive though.)

No, he and Arya still have an innkeeper to kill.

Yeah but I think the innkeeper is next epsiode, and she gets on her little boat at the very end. Sort of like when she leaves at the end of season 1.

probably will, though I didn't really care in the books, and won't in the show. It was pretty necessary honestly

For some reason I see this as being the opener to an episode, but yes I am pumped

stannis saving the day

Should be the anchor to the episode that Ygritte dies

lady stoneheart

I dk about anchor an episode, but I don't like her anyway (probably from my general dislike of Cat)

That would suck, that means that she'll get about 10 minutes of total screen time next season.

exacttttly. Outside of the rw, what major moments did we really have to look forward to this year? Jamie losing his hand (was that this season?)? Sansa/Tyrion wedding? Dany taking Yunkai? It all seems pretty minor now that I think about it (other than rw). Maybe I'm just forgetting stuff

Yea but the RW is the one biggest thing that's happened in the books or movies so far

Do you have a heart? It was necessary but tragic.

Really, I think it's going to have much less impact in the show because they have made her pretty unlikable.

Well I wanted Jons story to go a certain way, and that way meant she pretty much had to die.

Turns out it went that way, until it didn't anymore

red viper/ mountain is ending an epsiode. I can just picture it now, red viper dies and then the camera pans to Tyrion, he throws up and knows he is going to die. Credits.

Maybe from the book readers perspective:

But every non-reader I know loves her. Guys think she's hot. Every girl I know loves her and wants her around forever.

They will hate her death.

Ygritte? Maybe, we will have to wait and see how non-readers react. I personally never liked Ygritte and can't wait to see her die which seems to be the general consensus here.

I didn't care about her in the books either.

I'm just telling you from personal experience...most chicks I know love Ygritte.

I'm worried that the show will give short shrift to the Mountain vs. Viper duel.

That was the most exciting scene in the book for me, on first read.

The bad re-casting and large absence of the Mountain from seasons two and three of the show has led to a general under-awareness of the character among show viewers. This is also going to detract from the drama of the Viper's death.

In my opinion, they need to go pay the actor from the first season to come back as the Mountain and write in some atrocities early in season 4. Maybe showing him chopping up Locke/Hoat for stew meat... then making Locke eat it... will do the trick.
