I guess Reek won't make it to TV. The Theon scene was really good, at this point he wasn't even in the story, I do like how the show speeds up certain points. Pretty sick that he walked right back into the very place he had escaped, all by letting his guard down. The "I lost my real father" line was great, and a really smart addition. Next time we see Theon, he will truly be broken.

Just watching the episode... Is it bad I laugh when bad things happen to Theon? That motherfricker
When he got tied back up to the cross and they cut to the Bastard smiling...I started smiling. And then I realized that it was prob fricked up that I did....but Theon is not one of my favorites. I know many people like him, but I just don't feel much sympathy. He hasn't redeemed himself to me yet.
But it's possible that I'm just a cold-hearted bitch.

I had your line of thinking and was rolling my eyes when Theon said "I killed them". But then when he admitted to them not being the Starks and then him saying his real father was dead and he made the wrong choice etc. It did seem a little redeeming because I know what shite is about to happen to him in the books.

Did I inadvertently start another titty baby bitch fest in the non-readers thread? I didn't realize it was THAT bad
Yes, it is that bad, which is why we need to let them have their little 5 person thread. They really do NOT want to be informed about the show they claim to love so much. It is sad, but that is the way they want it. They don't even want us to tell them that Beric Dondarrion was in Season 1.
ETA: I am almost 100% sure the Silverfox over there is a reader posing as a non-reader.

Agreed. They had to get the viewers to sympathize with Theon to an extent bc up to this point, he was a really unlikable person. It also shows how weak his mental state is.

He destroyed the entire town he was raised in, Forced his 'little brothers' into exile with a simpleton and a wildling. Killed two kids, killed many of his fellow citizens, killed a Maester, and basically ruined the lives of people who didn't look down on him all for a father, family and country that does.
He deserves what he gets. I ever felt sorry for him, Rob would've had his Head.

100%
It's like in the real world, if a guy rapes and kills a child. No one is going to feel sorry for him no matter what happens in jail. Cause you know there is going to be soap slippin' shower love for the child raper.
Theon killed two kids, civilians, close acquaintances, and sacked the home of his caretakers who raised him as a son.

They are doing quite a few things with the show that actually expands/fleshes out things. The relationship between Robb and Jeyne, Theon's mea culpa, etc. Some of the differences, like the mage being in Varys' box, really help MAKE those characters.
While I miss the storylines of Sansa/Sir Dontas, the Tyrell's bard and his doing the bear song to drown out their discussion with Sansa, Edmure's dipshit-itude, etc having even more moving parts in a tv series would make it too frustrating to keep up with (just look at some of the simple things already being missed in the non-readers' thread).

So what the frick do they do with Dany for the next 3 seasons?? I really hope the writers throw in some shite like they did with the warlocks to give her wandering around meereen sine purpose. I got so many messages telling me how awesome she is and westeros being fricked. They need to do something to keep her relevant

Probably just cut to each city she sacks. I think it won't seem as long in the show. The books it seemed forever because of all the POV's changes.

I am very interested to see what the show does with Dany next. In the books, she goes to the other slave towns to free them, right?

I think this made it better for me. Like...yea, now you realize this...too late REEK!
I was excited to get to watch last night on time and not have to watch it Monday....and then I forgot what time it came on and missed it.
This was definitely an awesome episode. I'm trying to get my bf to catch up on it. He's still on season 2...damn non-reader.

It is going to be a lot less interesting than what we saw last night but they still have a decent amount of material to cover. They are headed to Mereen now correct? You have the whole sons of the harpy or whatever, her marriage, daario, Mormont hasn't betrayed her yet?, getting almost poisoned/dragon destroying everything, her riding off on the dragon (I imagine this will be a season finale, which is actually pretty badassto imagine), and then you have Tyrion just outside the wall for a lot of it riding on a dog as a clown
Honestly I am okay with them not showing that much of Dany going forward.
Jon/Arya/Tyrion's storylines are all so good that the focus needs to be there.

Don't think we'll see much of Dany for the next few episodes

I fully expect Dany's storyline to be sped up. Shes a fan fav and they need something for her to do.

They can't speed it up too much or else they'll catch up to where she is in the books and have nowhere to go.
