Game of Thrones fans' are angry about the series finale all over again... (Spoilers)

The script for the finale has been released online as part of HBO's campaign to get it an Emmy and it does much to destroy one of the more iconic scenes in the episode: Drogon's torching of the Iron Throne.
Apparently, the showrunners thought it was just a happy accident that the throne was melted down by an angry dragon. Here is the action log from the scene in question:

quote:
He looks down at Jon. We see the fire build up in his throat. Jon sees it as well. He prepares to die. But the blast is not for him. Drogon wants to burn the world but he will not kill Jon. He breathes fire on the back wall, blasting down what remains of the great red blocks of stone.
We look over Jon’s shoulder as the fire sweeps toward the throne - not the target of Drogon’s wrath, just a dumb bystander caught up in the conflagration.

Of all the problems the final season had, the most glaring had to be the Jon/Dany dynamic. Bad decision making on the writers part, bad writing ('muh queen' x 100000000), and bad acting from both Clarke and Harrington.
Kit shined the most as Jon when he was being a badass warrior and leader. He did neither all season. He could have had this moment against the Night King, but the writers had no idea what to do with Arya and had to shoehorn her in somewhere.

I know a few people that didn't watch it. The destination of this show was so fricking bad, I can't recommend it for the journey even though the journey was so fantastic.
The ending makes this show such a monumental waste of time for anyone who hasn't seen it.

The only difference is that the pile of shite will eventually cease to stink.

This was a show that could have rewatchable every 4-5 years, given the content.
Now, knowing how it ends, I’m not sure if many people will ever rewatch it again.

I really wish they had ended the show right when the throne burned. You don't have to go into who is the next king etc, just leave it on a cliffhanger. I really enjoyed the first 45 or so minutes of the finale with that being the climax.

You wanted them to end the show when the dumb bitch of a throne didn't just get out of the way?

Well . . . after watching the last season, I can understand how they managed to attribute "dumb" to an inanimate object.
No wonder the last season was bad; they seem to convey their ideas so poorly.
Saw this one in an article:

She asks Jon and Sansa if they know what's west of Westeros. "Jon and Sansa look at each other" the script says. "They both failed geography."

C'mon, give em a break. Dragons know the symbolism that the iron throne is something she wanted so bad but it actually ended up being the death of her.

They were trying to be smart writing that.
Dumb means mute here. Instead of the more modern stupid.
Still, you'd think they'd have rewrote that to not deal with the aha!

Whats the matter wise arse you cant quote Shakespeare?
i kid and yet if you look Shakespeare's plays, which really all double as screenplays, they all have VERY little in the way of direction. The theory goes if the words and the play are good you dont need them because its very obvious what needs to be going on. And when it came to Shakespeare, obviously his stuff was very good.
Then you look at these two brain dead hacks's screenplay and you can tell just how bad they are at writing when you look at it in that light.

Season 8 was pure shite writing, and it amazes me that anyone can pretend with a straight face that it wasn't pure shite writing.
It would be the perfect mockery of the Emmy's if this show wins a single Emmy in September.
