But speaking of the Iron Island storyline, it seems Theon's uncle Damphair was never cast for the show. I'm a little bummed by that.
Maybe they'll bring him in later for the choosing of the new King of the Iron Isles. We have to have the input of the Drowned God.

Did anybody else read it as Dam-fair the first chapter or so that he was mentioned? It wasn't until a little while later in ACOK that I finally went, "oooooh, damp hair.

That's what I was thinking as well. And the next episode is a line from the prayer to the Drowned God, so I was hoping that maybe he's in there but just wasn't listed in casting lists or something.
I was looking forward to seeing him this season I guess. He's one of those characters that may not necessarily be a primary, but I enjoyed his content in the books.

Which brings me to my concern of some characters being left out to this point. The story seems to be moving forward with haste in the show (not that it's a bad thing, some of that stuff can obviously be glossed over) but it seems like there are some major characters being left out as already mentioned in this thread.
I'm a little leary about it to be honest.

I mean I get it now but I was so used to wierd arse names in the ASOIAF universe that I completely missed that simple one.

That makes me feel a lot better. I see your name in pretty much every ASOIAF thread, so I know you know your stuff.

I really hate the Iron Islanders though, I mean Cersi-like hate, not as bad as Joffey.
They are just pieces of shite, you almost wish a Stark would go screw them up again. The worst is yet to come.
I still don't get how Crow Eye's Crew stays loyal to him after he ripped their tongues out. It would drive me insane to be a ship full of mutes. No wonder its called the silence. I can't wait to see Reek though.

I don't really care about him not being cast. All he would be there for would be drown someone and bring them back to life. HBO is steering clear of most magic for the most part.

Or be the driving source behind the Kingsmoot?

I really don't even know how that all will go down. Have they cast Crows Eye & Victorion? Hopefully with Jaquen Higar we get plenty of mention of the faceless men.
Either way it could very easily be a kingsmoot without Damphair, no one would notice the difference so long as someone brings up the subject of choosing the next king.

He will eventually be necessary but I see no reason that he can't be introduced at a later date.
Although to be honest I don't remember which book the kingsmoot is in. All these books blur together. I thought it was in SOS though
