not to mention the complications of pushing it back. Assuming Winterfell is sacked this season, is it burned to the ground w/ no Ramsey Bolton cast? If it is burned, does Bran attempt to go N of the wall w/ just he and Hodor? If Osha goes w/ them in place of the Reeds, what about Rickon? Maybe Luwin survives the raid and dies on the journey and then they bring in the Reeds I'd still like to see them cover the green dreams etc being that they're such a factor in why Bran goes on his journey
Agree completely
but

w/ no Ramsey Bolton cast
I heard he was already cast? I could be wrong though.

Roose, no Ramsey.
I gotcha.
They must be leaving out the majority of Bran's storyline this season then.
Horrible idea imo

boring reading that ended up not amounting to anything until the last chapter
My point.

Hindsight.
Of course it is which is why I said
quote:
the fact is we don't know and neither do the writers so as long as it looks like it will be a big deal it needs to be treated as such.
and also why I made sure to specify that
quote:
I never said it wasn't a big deal. You said that
Which you seem to want to ignore.
and just because something is boring reading doesn't mean it won't eventually be important.

As for the Mummers dragon, initially I thought he was indeed the mummers dragon. Frankly I still believe he is a fake, but who knows the kid believed he was Rhaegar's son, and Connington told him he was, but.... I really dunno. I think he's a fake, hope hes a fake.
But yes, that is probably how they will tie into Dany.

Why?
Are we sure we won't see the frog eaters?
They don't come into play until the sacking of Winterfell.

They haven't been cast yet I don't believe

If I grew up being told I was the son of one the biggest badasses and the most loved knight in the 7 kingdoms I would believe it to

He could quite possibly have ulterior motives.

agreed

This thread is for people who have read ALL the books...
If they don't want to see ADWD spoilers they shouldn't be in this thread

I posted this in another thread a couple of weeks ago but I'm still thinking Connington was being played by Toyne, the previous commander of the Golden Company. There was a passing mention that the male line of Blackfyres ended when Selmy slew Maely the Monstrous but little vague qualifiers like that should throw up huge warning flags to Martin fans.
I was already pretty confident in Aegon being a descendant of the female line of Daemon Blackfyre when I visited Tower of the Hand and came across the theory that Illyrio's late lover Serra might have been a Blackfyre. That fits pretty well since its easy enough to see Varys as an agent of the Golden Company but Illyrio with his vast wealth is harder to really pin down. Aegon as the son of Illyrio and a Blackfyre descendant would explain a lot of things.

I've thought about aegon being a descendant of the blackfyre line myself I've just never really seen anything convincing enough to prove me right.
Do you have a link to the Tower of the hand article?

It was a message board thread but I looked and couldn't find it again. There were lots of theories concerning Varys and Illyrio and their motivations. The one about Serra really caught my attention though.

Does the black pirate get to bang the queen. If so, I'll make sure to keep watching. I gotta know how he'd pull that one off.

Oh. Is that not in the books?

Oh no, its in there but this thread will ruin the whole series for you

If you just want to know about the black pirate and the Queen, I'll tell you this. Davos, being the great smuggler he is, sneaks him into Kings Landing where he captures Joffrey and makes him watch as he violates Cersei again and again and again. As she has now gone black and can never go back, Cersei joins forces with Stannis.
