Brandon the Builder (the first Stark?) and who Bran (Brandon) is named after.

have you not picked up on the ravens in almost every episode?

I have heard them mention ravens on a few but not always. Like tonight, I did not hear them say a raven delivered the letter from the redheaded daughter to her brother.

Also, I don't like Kaleesi looking all dirty and grimy. Is she gonna bathe soon or will she stay looking like a dothraki for the rest of the season?

They were in the very first scene of the series.

She is the khaleesi now, she considers herself part of the Dothraki. And in the scenes you saw, they had just been at war with another tribe.

So was this episode supposed to insinuate a potential wedge being driven between Dothraki purists and the Drogo way?

Yeah I was curious how they were gonna do that scene and what the wights would look like.

I am soooo glad I finished book one. It really, really makes watching the series that much more enjoyable imo.

doesnt seem to be that way in the tv show. I think they skipped that and went right to raiding the people of the lamb

awesome episode! And wow, I think I have a new "most hated character" in Maester Pycelle. He's much more irritating to me in the show than the book. During the throne room scene, I was overcome with the desire to punch him in the face several times... In the book, I felt more face-punch-desire for Varys and Cersei and Joffrey, but Pycelle stepped right up in this episode!

Ok, for any readers of the book or others with an opinion:

Do yall know how the northern peoples flee south when the wall is in the way? Same question for the ranger deserter. And if they can get around the wall, why is the wall so important for stopping the Walkers? It seems as if some scared ranger and some barbarians can get around the wall, so will the Walkers...

I haven't seen the episode yet. Did they show Ned's dream of the Tower of Joy?

Dude you are in a thread about a fantasy epic, there are nerds everywhere

It is very cool how Dany has gotten more and more tan each episode as she rides where the Dothraki horde marches.

The wall is embued with magical powers that keep the Walkers back. While it is formidable to average humans, it is old and can be circumvented at places. For the Walkers to pass it will have to fall.
