1. My girlfriend has started calling me my sun and stars.
2. She really thinks she has the next two episodes all figured out but she couldn't be further from the truth lol.

Game of Thrones- Season Long Thread (Newbie Guide in First Post)
Dude you are in a thread about a fantasy epic, there are nerds everywhere
I was on edge at the end of this episode. I'm about halfway through book 2 and believe me when I say this shits just getting started. Consider every episode to this point just setup/backstory for the shite storm that's on the horizon.

Me too!! I was gonna wait and read book 2 later, but this series has sucked me in. I'll will more than likely go straight to book 3 after I read book 2.

The first book is basically one long prologue for the entire story.

Never was a magic nerd, just fantasy epic nerd but i started playing miniature games a little while ago Fields of Glory and Ancient Warhammer. I play at little wars across from whole foods on friday nights.

The zombies at the start of the series should have been a clue that this wasn't going to be just some medieval knight story but still I was kind of lulled to sleep because it's so well written and the characters are so fricking cool.
HBO has done a great job telling this story.

Thanks for recommending I read these rather than just watch the series. Haven't been hooked on a book series like this since Harry potter

HBO has picked this up for season 2 right? I hope they see it through. I'd guess this is their best series since the Wire for me.

This was a great episode but I was expecting a little more. I stopped reading bc I wanted to watch the show, but what is the consensus about Syrio? Did he make it? And where did Arya run off to?

By northern people do you mean the Starks? I'm pretty sure the wall is north of the Starks, protecting them from the stuff on the other side. If they go south they don't have to cross the wall.
