He just looks like how most would imagine Howland. He also knew Ned and father. It's not an absurd speculation. It's just not significant since Howland is worthless until he decides to tell someone of Jon's parents.
Where were they at the time? Why would Reed even be there?

The thing I found strange is that Dany seemed far more comfortable around the dragons. They looked furious with her not too long ago, and now she and all her people felt safe well within burning distance.

Dany is starting to annoy me.
Why marry that guy if she plans to go to Westeros?
Why marry that guy if she plans to go to Westeros?

How did y'all know it was Howland Reed and not some random Northern guy?? :Hodor:
I still don't know. I mean do we know how much older Howland is than Ned?
I just watched that scene again. There is no way anyone is pulling the fact that is HR from that scene. That guy is just an old random Northerner.

Wrong thread?

I thought that Howland's first connection with the Starks was at that tournament with the Knight of the Laughing Tree and all that stuff.
Beyond all that, Howland isn't crazy older than Ned like that. Howland is either the same age or within a year or two older or younger than Ned based on the Laughing Tree story.

He roams wherever he wants! It was definitely Drogon.
so when Dany flies off on him, does he take her to Valyria? That would actually be pretty cool.

So in the next 5 episodes, are we going to see Jon Snow go to Hardhome, come back, get stabbed, and be brought back? Does Melisandre get back in time?

Yeah I'm trying to figure out how they're going to complete these storylines too.
Will we not see Kevan and Pycelle be killed until S6?

I kinda doubt that he'll be brought back this season since he hasn't even been in the books yet. I'm not even sure he'll be stabbed this season but that's much more likely than him being brought back.
Knowing GRRM, he'll likely have him warg into a wolf for a book or so while they chill his body in one of those ice rooms beneath the wall.

This is my guess as well, cliffhanger this season.

Not the craziest theory - a "better" resurrection, maybe, than either LSH or Coldhands, because Melisandre is better with all that?
(Interesting that of the 4 "resurrectees" in the books, so far, 1 is for certain a Stark - LSH - at least by marriage, and the other is strongly suspected of being a Stark, Coldhands is rumored to be Benjen.)

I thought this season was going to suck but the changes they made have really kept my interest high. This season could be one of the best yet depending on the second half. We've gotten so much more depth and history in these last five episodes.

Some of them don't make a lot of sense (many, in fact) - but others for the sake of combining storylines, screen efficiency, etc., do make a certain sort of sense.
We don't really have the Darkstar, Oakheart, Balon Swann (mentioned only) - so the Dorne storyline had to be told - substituting Jaime at the seige of Riverrun with him going makes a small bit of sense (except he can't fight) - screwing up Bronn's story (and maybe they have a plan to fix it) - just doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But, Bronn is an established character on the show - and a popular one, to boot.
Since there is no Griff/Young Griff storyline, they greatly shortened Tyrion's trek - now, I do read it as a straight "Heart of Darkness" ripoff, but the Shy Maid's chapters don't make a whole lot of sense without Griff/Young Griff - combining Mormont and Tyrion earlier in the timeline makes a lot of sense for the show - as predicted, one of them had to get Greyscale. I have few problems with this change.
I guess last night was the set up for Sam and Gilly to go to Oldtown. Using Stannis to bring up and endorse the capabilities of Randyll Tarly gave it a lot of gravitas, IMHO. Overall, the Wall story cannot change a whole lot, because, as Melisandre says, "There is only one war."
I can actually see where they're going with the Brienne, Theon, Sansa, Ramsay storyline - although it took a lot of gymnastics to get there. I guess the "faux" Arya storyline would have given too much screentime to a new character.
Killing Ser Barriston makes little sense - I get they're trying to give more emotional punch/justification to Dany's barbarism.

I think the Theon/Sansa reunion sets up theon nicely to redeem himself somewhat by telling Sansa her brother's aren't dead. Hopefully the show will go into Rickon's story.

I still think it's funny that they haven't caught up with the end of Dance. Even the Sansa story is just off, so it's not really past, it's just different. Arya, Jon, Dany, Cersei, Tyrion... all of them are no further along than they are 3/4 of the way through Dance. Sansa is technically further as she is out of the Vale, but her story is just different then it's going to be in the books so no big deal. Jaime is just in Dorne instead of the Riverlands.
So far the only change that is pretty much blasphemy is Ser Barristan. Just a complete and utter failure on D&D's part to miss so badly on that decision. They save Grey Worm for his no-penis love affair with Missandei but let one of the greatest men in Westeros die before his time. Then Jorah is going to bite it with Greyscale. So Dany is going to return to Westeros with only Tyrion at her side. A kin-slaying Imp, suspected king-slaying Imp that most everyone hates. Selmy would have given her clout with the common people and lords and knights partial to the Targs. I'm sure it won't ruin the show or anything, but it's just bad writing on their part.
