Because there is way to many coincidences to say otherwise. They wouldn't bring another extra for that scene that is pointless unless it is howland reed. The thing that confirmed it for me was the septa telling her to light a candle if she was in trouble. I definitely think brienne sent the message but I have no doubt howland Reed got it to the septa
That's a hell of a stretch consider howland is also in kings landing right now

Me too. Different medium. The books have so much stuff, there is no way production costs could justify having it all.

I don't buy the high septon theory

Hizdor is the mastermind of the Harpy. He will likely attempt to kill Dany (poison at fighting pits) after he has her every which way in the bedroom. :hititandquitit:

Yeah I was half kidding but I think it's more likely then that random guy just being howland

I still don't know. I mean do we know how much older Howland is than Ned?
Maybe I'm clueless or I've missed something, but I don't see where we take the rather big leap that the guy is Howland Reed.
From a TV aspect, every characters like that (i.e. see the High Sparrow, Queen of Thorns, Jojen Reed, etc) has ended up being a fairly notable actor/actress. I suspect it'll be the same for Howland.
From a story aspect, it's entirely possible he's just another Northman who despises the Boltons because he knew and loved Ned Stark (and the Starks).

Howland is somewhere, just no clue. Doubtful he is the High Sparrow. IMO.

Howland Reed is everyone...

Howland Reed has not appeared on the show yet.Including tonight.
Damn good chance he is never in the show.
Book readers will have to learn to deal with differences.

I don't know how we jumped into this thinking that Howland Reed is the inn keeper. Seemed like a regular ol' northern man to me.

Agreed. So many whiners complaining about every little change.
I've been very happy with the show connecting more of the storylines together at this point. Martin should have done the same.

He just looks like how most would imagine Howland. He also knew Ned and father. It's not an absurd speculation. It's just not significant since Howland is worthless until he decides to tell someone of Jon's parents.

Yeah I didn't have any real evidence that it is Howland Reed, just a thought. Likely just so,e old northerner. Would be kind of cool, tho.

I'm excited for the battle of winterfell too. Gonna be glorious

Eh. I'd imagine he'd look more like Meera and Jojen personally. Not a stringy, straw haired old man.

Well you're in the North and more specifically right outside of Winterfell. I imagine most of his age did too.

Did Robb still send his folks with the letter legitimizing Jon early on to the Reeds? I can't remember if he did on the show.
Either way, it's a pretty damn big stretch.

Jojen was all string

I don't think Robb got the letter out in the show.

I dont recall reading that much about Howland Reed in the books. He seems pretty insignificant.

Yeah, it's wishful thinking.
