The CGI complaints are completely valid especially with this being sort of a prequel to Fury Road which was like 99% practical. But like you said Miller is old as frick now and he definitely probably finds it easier to film mostly CG than spends months out in the Australian desert or which ever desert the filmed Fury Road in.

Aside from that Anya as Furiosa and Hemsworth as Joe are absolute wins, Hemsworth really seems to be having a lot of fun in this role as well. I still expect this to be a solid movie but just not on the level of Fury Road

Fury Road was filmed in the Namib Desert in Namibia, Africa.

And according to the two-part “What Went Wrong - Mad Max: Fury Road” podcast (available on all regular podcast platforms) Miller never really bothered with continuity between (at least the first 3 films). He saw them all as stand alone films, (albeit with the same character).

BTW, I love that podcast / they do a great job and are easy to listen to.

Trailers can be deceptive. (Monkey Man)

But we get...

'Furiosa.. we've come too far!'

'They took Furiosa!'

FF to 10+ yrs in the future, somehow she's still captive and the bad guys are looking for this Eden-esque realm which Furiosa called home... How can this even be a thing? Isn't this all set in Australia? A continent fully surrounded by ocean, yet somehow this patch of land remains elusive to anyone looking for it?

And if they TOOK her from there, it's location can't be all that secret, can it? What's to keep anyone from just waltzing in and taking over?

I don't understand why Hollywood thinks a woman shaving her head makes her look cool.

It's not about looking cool, it's about looking as anti-feminine and anti-traditional as possible.

I'm sure that's part of it, but they put it in the trailer like it's impressive.

Having a different opinion specific to the actual trailer is 'snowflake' exactly how?

Stop projecting so damn much. FFS.

And again, there's no 'melting' on my part. If anything, the hyper overreaction to anyone NOT seal clapping for this trailer is a yuge tell on yourself.

Looks like they abandoned the practical effects for almost purely CGI. Some of that looks pretty bad.

They severely overstated the amount of practical effects of Fury Road. Had the same amount as CGI as most blockbusters.
