Almost done with season 1. Haven’t read through whole thread in case of spoilers but pretty happy with the rec so far and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t care for the horror genre

A scene I really liked in season 1 was when the monster greeted Trudy. Trudy asks "how do you know my name?"

Monster answers: We know all your names...

That was a nice creepy moment.

Solid episode.

Full of dread/sadness.

They picked a hell of a wardrobe for the Matthews mom and daughter for this episode.

So has Sara been afraid to leave that basement? And Donna said there were three from the bus unaccounted for. Two I’m assuming was the girl stuck to the tree and her boyfriend, who is the third?

Didn't like this episode as story isn't moving forward. We do know how twisted the monsters are after what they did to Kelly though.

Watched it. Solid episode I thought.

I didn’t get that. Because we saw the elderly couple in the bus, so that should be two. And Kelly and Brian are four. But Donna said there were 25 with 3 unaccounted for, which makes 22. So is she saying there are three still missing, or that the number is now 22 alive from the bus?

So the monsters are even more twisted than before. That’s cool and even more terrifying.

At first I thought they were maybe using her as bait or had turned her or something. But it appears they just did it for fun and to frick with her head.

Glad to see Sara back, although I’m interested to see how she ended up in that basement. Hopefully she can help explain some of the shite Boyd now has.

Boyd is definitely overthinking the “Brian Kelly” thing. Those are two super common names. I’m not even saying there isn’t a connection there but to waste so much time thinking about it is nuts.

Enjoying season 2 so far. Trippy shite. I don't even really care that still no one has a clue as to what the hell is going on.

Jim's wife and daughter are by far the worst actors on the show.

And the son. Don't forget the son.

What's funny is after the show they had a little vignette with the actors talking about the show and the season/episode, and all of them are normal people except for the son. The kid that plays the son was literally exactly like his character in the show, and it was weird as frick. I tried to find the clip online, but can't. It's so hard to search for shite with this show because of its name.

It bothers me that we haven't seen anybody even attempt to explain to the new bus people that they re trapped here and what they know about the monsters. It's just all "If you go outsied they'll get you!" or "You can't go outside, you don't know what's out there, TRUST ME!" type of shite. Not once have we seen them try to explain that this place doesn't exist in the real world and has some wild shite in it. Instead they throw out platitudes and shoot guns in the air (or at tires) to try to get them to comply. It makes no sense.

Yeah they did a horrible job managing that. They basically were like "its so crazy that y'all won't believe us, so we are not going to explain it to you really, but just know that you can't leave and if you are outside at night, you will certainly die."

Same. Just got mgm yesterday and only have one more episode until I’m all the way caught up.

So what are the monsters. Lots of characteristics of Vampires in some lore. Having to be invited in, only come out at night, mind control, etc. But they don’t kill like vamps, they gut people. I saw one theory that they are some sort of alien but I don’t know about that.

Somebody at work was telling me maybe skin walkers

So could the monsters open that door if they wanted to, or would they still have to be let in? Based on Victor's comment, it seems like they could open doors or windows or whatever as long as the structure isn't talisman-protected.

Yes. Any structure with a talisman is good I think. Like when Boyd found them in that little shelter in the woods.

In season 1 the guy was in the “box” and they broke through and got him with no talismans. Technically that box was more secure than the little open shelter.

I'm caught up to EP4/S2 but it's really a very slow burn..
80% Days of our Lives and 20% monsters/horror/sci fi.

Very frustrating to watch..

The bus couple in the house didn’t have a talisman and that house had windows but if it was monsters they still knocked on the door instead of just breaking a window.

I thought they were at the bar. Pretty sure they looked at the talisman when they first cut to them.

I watched season 1, am in progress for season 2 and really like the concept but I find the acting pretty abysmal.

It is very frustrating. I want to know the answers, but am about at the point I don't want to watch the show to find out. Just tedious!

Outside of Boyd, it’s atrocious acting top to bottom. Don’t know how that’s possible. Wonder if it’s directing?

Outside of a few cases, I don’t find the acting abysmal. I just don’t think any of it is very good, Boyd included. So I just take it for what it’s worth and roll with it since I like the show so much.

But if we’re adding shitty actors to the list, include Boyd’s son Ellis. He’s one of the worst.

Yeah I’m watching shows like this for the mystery, story, and suspense. I feel like all that is delivered quite well. I couldn’t care less if none of the actors earn an Emmy.

I was enthralled by lost for years and outside of Terry O quinn I wouldn’t say anyone set the stage on fire.

The acting is good enough that it doesn’t really take me out of it. There’s definitely been a few instances that I’ll think to myself “that’s bad acting,” but I get back into the show pretty quickly. I don’t think I’ve ever thought that about Ellis, but the dude who plays Jade is definitely a candidate for an overacting award.
