Wow, I think that you are onto something with this. It would explain how Tabitha knew exactly who the little kid was in that photo that Jade showed her even though she couldn't have possibly known what Victor looked like at that age.

I always assumed she identified him from the lunchbox he was carrying in the picture, but this theory is more fun than that.

But that would also assume that your memories would have to be erased once you left the town and got back to reality. Otherwise Tabitha would definitely remember it, Victor, etc.

The only thing that as shown to teleport anyone is jumping into the tree. Unless she fell out of the lighthouse into a tree hole it doesn't seem likely at all.

Similar to the fan theory mentioned above about Tabitha being Victor sister. It's fun to think about, but in retrospect not really likely at all.

But that's the point of fan theories. Get to make up storylines and talk yourself into them between seasons to keep interest

Well, there is the whole drive into a fallen tree and then you're somewhere else entirely sort of situation. That's what I meant moreso than the literal tree-teleportation.

And absolutely agree with this.

Finished first season. On the fence about investing in the second season. Does it get better?

(Not reading if this has been addressed in thread b/c spoilers)

What’s your issue with S1 that you’re on the fence about?

I think S2 is very good, but it depends on what your gripes are so far.

It's a bit predicable. I like Perrineau but not really anyone else in the cast. Dialogue is meh. Didn't like how S1 ended. I don't hate it but I may need some encouragement to start S2. Would appreciate any nonspoiler encouragement or a warning if it goes downhill from S1.

I felt like you about season 1. I’m 4 episodes into season 2 and I think it’s gotten better.

Oh really? Tell me what you think is really happening and how it's going to end.

My gripes - acting and lack of common sense such as everyone withholding information from each other - got a little better towards the end of season 2. First part of season 2 felt like season 1 to me though.

Season 2 is better based on the finale alone.

How the hell do you think that?

Seriously, what is predictable about it?

The acting itself does not improve, but that's expected when it's the same not-so great actors in a new season. That being said, it's not really distracting to me outside of a couple of moments.

I'd say the S2 writing is about on par with S1, but seems to have improved a bit. At least IMO.

What did you not like? IIRC, S1 ended with Jim getting the radio working and hearing the voice on the other end warning him about Tabitha, then running to the house and the basement collapses....Victor is underground with Tabitha....Boyd and Sara are in the woods and see the big light/lighthouse...Boyd goes through a faraway tree and ends up in the shaft/well...and then a new bus arrives into town.

What did you not like about S1E10?

I don't think it goes downhill at all, but I may like this show more than most. I think the writing is a little tighter in S2. I also think that there are times in S2 when separate plotlines converge a bit, which is nice. The new people on the bus...some of them are solid additions, some of them aren't (and the acting is on par with the show). But there are some new twists and shite in S2 that do sort of change things, and it made the show more interesting to me. And the finale was pretty great with a great finish IMO.

My biggest gripe about S2 was that the monsters (which I contend is one of the coolest angles of the show) took more of a backseat as a threat. But that being said, they're still around and there is enough new subplots that it wasn't a bad thing really...I just really like the aspect of the monsters and who they are and what they are capable of.

But all in all, I'd say if you liked S1 there's really no reason you wouldn't like S2 for the most part. Especially if you can binge it and not have to wait a week between episodes.

I don't see how anyone can say this show is predictable.

This is where I’m at as well. I’ve liked it so far but I’m on the fence about paying for season 2.

Main issue with the show is a lot of the cast doesn’t come across as very bright. Some of them are extremely soft emotionally in an environment you’d think would make them battle hardened for lack of a better word. The overall lack of desire to escape, to find home or to even fight back bothers me too.

That’s not the case for season 2. The characters should probably communicate better with each other but season 2 definitely deals with trying to get out and fighting back.

That's been my biggest gripe with the show. I get that you need some of that tension in order to advance plots and whatnot, but man just share SOME information with each other and you'd progress so much more (and more efficiently). I went back and read the S1 thread, and I bitched about lack of sharing information several times.

Thankfully that was corrected a bit in S2, and I suspect moving forward will be more of the same.

I just finished season 2. I’d agree with this although my biggest gripe was Jim basically being neutered for the second season and Kenny getting way too much screen time.

Kenny fricking sucks

I do agree with that big time. Kenny is terrible, both as a character and an actor.

And Jim felt like the main protagonist of the show in S1. It's also who we are sort of introduced into the show with. But S2 he spent several episodes lying under a broken house. And we barely see him after that as the focus shifts way more toward Boyd. I want more Jim involvement because he's one of the only people trying to figure this shite out and get his family (and the others) rescued/escaped.

Boyd and Jim should definitely be the two characters the show spends the most amount of time with.
