something was at the bottom of the lake that is now floating. Boyd's boat. Remind me what happened there. He bought a boat and had a picture of it then it vanished from the picture?
I don’t know why but I thought it kind of looked like bodies when whatever it was first hit the surface.
I was confused by the wedding bands also. Did Boyd think that was his dead wife’s ring he found in the house and then rushed back to make sure the actual ring was still in the box? Just the town fricking with people I guess.
The Fatima shite is odd. Making a mud man in the attic is a choice I guess. Like someone said Elgin must have ptsd or really shitty short term memory to just be so nonchalant about losing an eye.
When the daughter story walked and the MIY was eating someone I’m curious if that was the time when Victor was a child. The story walking has to have a big payoff and be a major theme going forward.

Right, they had to in order to stop her. My point is not letting her take it in the first place to conserve gas. Although you might want to keep the keys somewh
I thought that too until I saw the gas station in the scene where Sarah met Sophia. I just assumed the town provided gas like they do water.
We just caught up on Season 4 today. This is the only show I’ve seen in a long time where they’ve been able to keep the quality up through every season. Not once have we lost interest.
The actress that plays Sophia is pretty damn good. She’s diabolical and innocent at the same time.
They did a damn good job of making her look homely. Then again most of the actresses are attractive and they’ve managed to tone down their looks a lot.

That’s the same thing my wife thought.

It has to be the town messing with Boyd so he’ll continue to break and not believe what he sees.

I think it was. It looked like the same scene from when Victor was explaining what happened to everyone when he was a kid. I think it was when he was hiding in the root cellar with his sister.

They moved the story forward a smidge with the wedding ring. I'm not sure where it's going or if the infinity symbol inside it means anything though.
That didn't move anything forward really though; it was just another mystery about it. I thought we'd at least get to see more about the hand coming out of the ground, who it was, etc. I suspect it's difficult to talk about since the people never seem to know if what they are seeing is actually real or if it is just in their imaginations. But still, if I'm Boyd I'm telling at least certain people that I was at Abby's grave and a fricking hand grabbed me and damn near drug me into the ground. But sharing information isn't a thing on this show too often.

Boyd's boat? Remind me what happened there. He bought a boat and had a picture of it then it vanished from the picture?
I don't remember anything about the boat disappearing from the picture. Just that Elgin's polaroid camera spit out a picture of Boyd's old house.
I was reading up a little on the From Wiki about Boyd, and maybe there is some connection between the boat and the Town. When we got Boyd's flashback to when he arrived to the Town, he and Abby and Ellis were in the car on a road trip and right when Abby surprised him with the boat key is when they almost hit the tree in the road. So maybe the boat is somehow significant. I'm not sure the boat is what is in the lake though...and the preview for next week didn't seem to look like a boat (although I didn't get a good look at it really). So I guess maybe it could be?
Also, reading just now about Boyd, it hit me that when Boyd was out stuck in the woods all night and found the talismans...when he returned to the Town with all of them in his hands/arms, that's when Abby went nuts and was shooting people. So that also does sort of play into the whole "if you figure out too much shite, the Town fights back" angle that they talked about in recent episodes. This Town is very hesitant to give anybody a win, and it seems like even when someone does get one, it very quickly strikes back with some downer shite to counterbalance the win.
Also, music seems to be important on this show. When they were riding in their car, right before Abby gives him the boat key, they were listening to "If I Had a Boat" by Lyle Lovett. And Abby was also singing that when she was shooting people on the main road. I've generally tried keeping notes of songs when I notice them in the show, but maybe that is worth looking more into at some point.

I was confused by the scene with the rings. I assume they're trying to make us think that the same thing that happened to Boyd's wife is now happening to Fatima?
Not sure on that either. The ring thing was odd, but I suspect the ring is somehow important (was it Abby's wedding ring??). And the way it was shot made me wonder if there were gonna be two rings...only for Boyd to see the one on the desk disappear once he had the actual ring in his hand.
I do suspect that the infinity symbol is just sort of an identifier, as wes mentioned above.

For the questions in this thread about if the MIY was a converted member of the town...I don't think that's what they're getting at. It's the same thing as Sophia where no one knows the truth and just assumed she's new to the town. And when Victor was a child the MIY won and so Victor never found out the truth
That's the backstory episode I want the most, when Victor is a boy and everyone dies. I assume MiY will be heavily involved in that. But I want some story on that, and I want to see how Victor managed to survive on his own for so long. I assume that shortly after everyone was killed, new people started arriving, but who knows.
I also wonder how much backstory we are gonna get about this place in general, and the supernatural aspects of it. I don't need it laid out on a platter, but I at least do hope we do get some info on it and what it is/how it came to be. And I hope it's more than just "the Devil built this place" or something like that (also assuming that MiY is not literally the devil).

I agree. That's really the only time we've seen bodies strewn about all over the main road. So I assume that's where she jumped as well.
Julie has to be a pretty major plot point moving forward. The storywalking shite doesn't seem like something minor that will pass or fade. I like the whole angle of Julie and Randall figuring shite out and working together. I do wish Marielle would get involved with that since she was the third person who was "taken" and tortured (or whatever) in the ruins building. I think the preview for next week shows her dealing with that, so maybe she will get involved. But clearly those three are sort of special in some way because the Town took them, and I wonder if Marielle and Randall will also end up having some sort of "powers" because of it like Julie does.

Just wanted to point out that we're already at page 8. The discussion is definitely growing compared to previous seasons. This is fun

How has this season been? I have not been able to watch and love the series.
Any more clarity of what is going on? or where they are? please just yes or no

I think it's been really solid so far. As for clarity of what is going on...not really, no. But they seem to be slowly piecing things together.

The storywalking has to end up being very important to them getting out or finding out what got them there. Otherwise it’s a waste of a storyline.
Marielle has been a sidenote since they got trapped in the ruins. They need to add her in somehow.

I also want to say when the expedition left to go to the lake they had two people with them I didn’t recognize. A redhead and some dude. Me and my wife both immediately said Redshirts and something bad is going to happen.

I hate that they took another female character and gave her a botched hair cut. And for a stupid reason, she didn’t solve the problem of getting grabbed by the hair at all. Jade is the only one whose hair has even grown. No one else in the show has had to get a hair cut, they all look the same as they did in season 1. They will probably shave Sophia’s head this week.
Other than that it’s been a good season so far, kinda slow. Has anyone died this season other than the dad and the preacher?

Ehh whatever, the reason was bc they needed to show that Julie was story walking in the Jim scene from season 3. Different hair was an easy way to show she was from a different time. Now they just needed an excuse to cut it off and tie that end up

I believe I commented on that a week or two ago, but it seems like they've stepped up the no-name side characters' screen time this season, which has to mean that we have some sort of bloody, massive purge coming soon.

Which brings up a time-travel question...
When MiY/Sophia first meets Julie, does he recognize her as being the person from back then who interrupted his meal?
Or...
Did her travelling re-write things so that now he has the memory and will remember her the next time he sees her? (ie: it's only happened once, not a time loop)
Or...
Did her travelling back in time create a divergent line (or some other explanation) so that the MiY/Sophia in the current time isn't the one who experienced the meeting with Julie in the past?

I don't think it's number 2 because in episode 1 or 2 of season 1 one of the monsters asks Julie if she remembers him

Sofia not only gorgeous but her body as well is omg. Even cute as church girl. MIY is gonna wreck the town. Victors dads death will be bad.

I'll be looking into that. I love catches of subtle lore like that.

It's fricking terrible. You can read into this and that from each episode but if you're looking for entertainment each week, abandon ship. There's entire episodes with zero suspense, excitement, etc... it's now become a drawn out replica of Quantum Leap meets The Predator meets Oliver Twist.
