shite, hadn't considered that. Of course he/it was let in.
Didn't the little girl have to let the Old Lady monster into her room in Season 1? Once she opened the window it was game over.

So clearly this bird Ethan is burying is gonna resurrect.

Gotta love the subtlety of the Answers motel pointing “this way.”

Really like the idea of scarecrows keeping something in the lake at bay.

So this random dude and chick at the lake are gonna die, right?

Who is the one eyed dude Jade sees with the skull of blood? Have we seen him before? Some a-hole nailed to a tree at the settlement.

“You don’t get to pick and choose your memories. Now you’re gonna see things you don’t want to see.”

I really hope Fatima dies soon. I’m tired of her shite.

Was that Christopher playing violin on the porch? Along with one eyed dude and a black Civil War soldier? And a dude crushed by a rock.

“The answers you sought come wrapped in painful truths.”

Not sure where the drunk Henry thing is going.

Still not sure if Sophia is trying to learn shite or trying to stir up shite. She’s eavesdropping but I feel like it’s stuff she knows already.

So they are all Jade from past lives. And they were all murdered. “Minnows in a shark’s net.” Murdered by people in the Town. Once people learn the truth they eventually kill Jade. And it’s worse for Tabitha. Jade is asking if that means there’s no way home. And his younger self is a fricking smartass.

“The MiY suit ate my mother.”

“You have to clear the way to see the path.” This shite is weird as frick but at least it feels like we are progressing toward answers.

So Marielle can hear and feel the suffering of every single person that ever died there. I wonder if she will somehow connect Jade and Tabitha to that. “Something old here, something ancient. And it’s feeding off our suffering and it doesn’t stop. And even after we die we are still trapped here and we never get to leave.” Hmmmm.

So the dolls were Tabitha’s and some dude threw them in to the lake bc they gave him nightmares. And after he died his nightmares came out of the lake. And the talismans don’t work.

And HOLY shite THEY CAME ALIVE. That was awesome.

And yup, random dude got merked. And now it’s random girl’s turn. I guess the two randos getting attacked are the “painful truths” for the answers Tabitha remembered (about the dolls and how to hurt them)?

So all of this shite is under Colony House and nobody has ever seen or found that door before?

Ah. So this was all a fever dream shroom hallucination from Jade. And now he knows how to save the kids and go home? Hmmm.

This was a slow episode at first but then it picked up and was solid.

Man, I hope the person Boyd is doing CPR on in the preview for next week is fricking Ethan’s little bitch arse. :fingerscrossed:

I thought this was quite a stretch of a conclusion for Donna. Also wouldn't the scarecrows be on the bank if they were keeping something in the lake?

I think this was just an excuse for Victor to tell Kenny about the MIY. I still think Kenny is going to become Sophia's primary defender when Tabitha/Boyd/Sara/Jade accuse her of being MIY

Agree here. I think she just likes that they're all fighting with each other.

Haven't we heard before in this show about someone's nightmares becoming reality?

I thought the scarecrows were super cheesy. And why did the one turn around and leave with his arms on fire? And we never saw the third one?

And now he knows how to save the kids and go home? Hmmm.

Now he thinks the children are in those tombs. But as another poster asked, what's really gonna be in those tombs when he opens them?

Her explanation made sense to me. And scarecrows are one of the only things I can think of where you'd have human-sized dummies like that.

IMO Sophia will try to seduce Kenny to get him onto her side. We all know the actress is hot and there is a reason MiY turned into someone that looks like her when he could've changed into some random person and gotten just as much sympathy. I think Kenny may even end up dying due to falling for Sophia.

Yes, and I've long-wondered if Victor's nightmares have anything to do with the Town and monsters and shite (like if they gave him nightmares or if his nightmares somehow affect this place and come to fruition). Nightmares have seemed to be fairly significant in the past, even going back to people like Elgin sleeping and screaming bc of that creepy arse women. Also, just dreams in general, like Ethan dreaming about the Lake of Tears back in the first couple episodes of the series. Also the "waking nightmares" that everyone seems to have. Like Marielle, Randall, and Julie with the locusts, Boyd with the ground-arm, etc.

Oh they looked completely ridiculous. I just wasn't sure what to expect, and it wasn't really that. Plus it was just awesome and hilarious how they brought two randoms with them and those two were the ones who got attacked the most, as we all have assumed lately.
quote:

Now he thinks the children are in those tombs. But as another poster asked, what's really gonna be in those tombs when he opens them?

That certainly seems to be the implication. I just don't think finding the bodies of the children and getting them out of there triggers everyone going home. It's almost too simple. It does track with Jade/Tabitha sort of creating this whole mess with "not saving the children" or whatever, but we still don't know what that is all about yet. Was it MiY demanding the sacrifice of the kids? I assume so. But what kind of entity is he/it?

I don't know, it just seems too "easy" to go retrieve the bodies and then everything is fixed.

But at least things seem to be progressing a good bit. You have Jade and Boyd figuring shite out, Tabitha piecing information together from her spotty memories, Fatima doing whatever the frick she's doing, etc. I assume this season will end with figuring out/confronting MiY and "battling" him. But who knows.

With all the time and camera shots they spent on his burying the bird, it's pretty much a lock that it resurrects.

I found it a kind of flimsy scenario. I think the more likely one is that somehow the Lake of Tears (can we call it that now?) negates their ability to come alive. This would mean someone had to go fish them out in the first place. I wonder if they grow from killing people?

An aside: did it take anyone else completely out of the scene when the dolls floated after being loaded down with rocks?

quote:

Plus it was just awesome and hilarious how they brought two randoms with them and those two were the ones who got attacked the most, as we all have assumed lately.

Yeah, those were red-shirts from the first time they appeared with the group.

So does this mean all the people being brought into the town are like Jade and Tabitha, except that they never remember?

I loved how deep they went to make that hallucination seem real, only for it to end with Jade having never left the police station nor even made a peep after sitting back down. Very, very well done!

Sophia being in the houses proves that the talismans don’t really do anything

Can’t wait for that shoe to drop. The monsters hide waltz in one night like “LULZ, they actually think these things work”

But she was/is allowed inside, which is a key difference, no?

I know a lot of folks thought the dolls coming to life and wrecking shop was cheesy, including my wife, but I liked it and was just glad to have a little action. Even if it was only to kill/maim the NPC’s haha

Not true.

The talismans work only if it is placed on the wall of is an enclosed area. If it falls or a door/window is opened, the protection falls. They don't work in open spaces, which is why wearing one outdoors doesn't work.

What this could mean is that Sophia/MiY is the entity controlling the area. if that's true, then he makes the rules.

Let's back up a second...

The primary theory is that the night people feed off of misery. They kill the townspeople, but they do so in slow, horrifying ways. They go through long periods where they kill no one, so it's a safe supposition they are psychic vampires of a sort.

We know MiY is some sort of higher level being, having been the voice telling Tabitha to stop digging and guiding Sara's earlier antics. What if he's the power the townspeople made a deal with, thus he made the night people? If that's true then perhaps he gets nourishment/power through the night people?

While the night people are blunt instruments of fear and misery, MiY could be the giver of false hope (because the more hope there is, the greater and more intense the fear and misery is created when that hope is brought crashing down).

So to bring this back around, what this could mean is that they work but just not on him.

Your analysis also means they work because of him, so he could flip that switch at any moment

Hasn't she?

Also, does day/night have anything to do with it? We know the monsters only come out at night, but do the talismans only work at night? I realize that seems like sort of a ridiculous question, but just thinking out loud, so to speak.

Also, I do think MiY is one of the things running this place. So in that regard, he is "above" the level of mere monsters that walk around tormenting at night.

Depends on what she's into.

It most certainly diverts from "funning from monsters" in short order though. For most of the seasons, you sort of forget that they are a threat at night unless someone new enters the town. But there are still some excellent monster scenes though.

I guess my point is it runs much deeper than just being similar to TWD (which I don't agree with anyway aside from literal zombie-type things that exist).

But knowing how women are with movies and TV shows, I'd say if she wants out, let her be out and just enjoy it on your own. Plus you can watch it at your own pace as well and not have to schedule it around the both of you.

From what I’ve gathered, this cycle is repeated over and over again. And right now they’re in the final phase. That tells me that the entire thing is set up, intentionally, which leads me to believe that using the talismans is just one of the steps in the process. Which leads me to believe that Sophia could flip that switch at any time, as it is all just a game to her.
